I went bowling with the ゴリラ yesterday. For the first game, the losing team had to buy the winning team beverges of their choice (which were expensive, at 200yen in this stupid bowling alley!!). We had one less person, so the deal was to double Ane's score. Due to my totally awesome bowling skills, even doubling Ane's score, we lost. Ouch!! The second game was for the shoe rental fee, and everyone decided it was more fair to tripple my score instead. I improved to an awesome 63, and in the end we won!!!!!! Unbelivable, ha.
Afterwards we went to Tokyo station to see off Ane and Gori, and afterwards Hodaka was debating between going to Yokohama to see the fireworks, or to the movies for PotC. I wasn't particularly interested in either and had planned to go to Starbucks to study instead. Suddenly, Naoko points at the Keisei line and is like, "Why don't you guys go to Disneyland?"
So we did!!!!
It was the first time I had ever been to any Disneyland anywhere, and the verdict is... overrated!!!!
Crowded, expensive, and the rides aren't terribly interesting. The first ride we went on was some Star Wars themed thingy, and at the end of the ride the staff is like "申し訳ございません!!!!!!!" Apparently the ride had gone wrong some place, and the movement was rockier than usual.. or something?? We had absolutely no idea. But!! As an apology for their mysterious mistake, we got passes to go to the front of the line on one ride. So we used those puppies on Big Thunder Mountain, which had a 90 minute wait.
All in all we rode the three mountain rides (Space Mountain was actually pretty cool), the Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and maybe one other, I don't really remember. Not bad for a crowded weekend and only 4 hours in the park. Too bad the rides weren't very interesting!!
I did, however, like the staff, as they were all REALLY good at staying in character. I think that has to be one of the most difficult jobs. In the Haunted Mansion all the girls were really dark and zombified, and they would do these funny little hand movements when they motioned the crowds to move forward. Also good was the food!! We only had tropical donburi in the Adventure Land area, but they were delicious and cheap!! The food at Disneyland is cheap!!
But all in all, not terribly worth the money. Disney Sea might be worth checking out once, but I'd rather save my money and go to an amusement park with less marketing and some real rides!!

I rocked the 言語交換 today, woot. Now I'm translating a book about フリーター which I guess I'll eventually post for fun.
