winter times

When I first started writing this entry before dinner, my face and legs were still partly numb. I had just spent most of an hour and a half or so shoveling the brick walk in front, and scraping the snow off Erick's and my cars (which was made harder by the fact that it had already started snowing again by the time I did that. oh well.). It was actually kind of fun :). Actually, it all started when I volunteered to go get the mail and mom said I should shovel the walk too, and I was ok with that. It's funny, whenever we were kids and it snowed, we would hurry outside to sled and make forts and not care if we got cold or sweaty or whatever. In the neighborhood behind our old house, there was a park that had steep enough hills we could sled down, and that was pretty fun - and conveniently within walking distance. I remember making hot cocoa from scratch one December night when we (the whole fam) got home from sledding. Anyway, it was fun being in the quiet twilit snowy outdoors tonight and not caring too much how wet or cold I got in the process.

But it's definitely sad that the weather made us miss out on the small group dinner that was planned for tonight. Boo for that timing.

I'm excited that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe comes out tomorrow. I think it will be good, so I just hope the weather doesn't keep us from going to see it.

I'm all out of ideas, so I guess I'll go watch the basketball game. Go Illini!
