Saw the film Thursday afternoon. Really enjoyed it.
I see a lot of the Supes loyalists hate this Lois. I loved the Margot Kidder version, and I love Bosworth's take just as much, if not more. She was grounded, yet passionate. She was rather sophisticated. And she didn't annoy the hell outta me with heaps of snark and sarcasm, unlike another Lois I'm familiar with.
I really enjoyed Brandon's portrayal. Adored the chemistry between him and Kate. Clark probably coulda used more development, though...a bit dull, perhaps? Eh, it's been a few days, I don't fully remember.
Wasn't crazy about Kevin. The performance felt one-note to me. And the Parker Posey character seemed to be incapable of anything besides crying.
This movie made me seriously dig Superman. I like the Chris Reeve films (well, the first two, anyway), but they didn't leave me with the feelings of exuberance and joy that "Superman Returns" did.
It'll be interesting to see the ratings we get in the fall. The show's been getting a lot of exposure lately; makes me think the numbers'll spike at least a little for the first third of the season. Then viewers will realize what they've walked into and back out as quickly as possible. Of course. It's really too bad the show had to be headed in such a horrid direction when Superman is getting resurrected, so to speak. Still, I'm looking forward to having 'my' Clark back. Ah, Tommy. That'll be good. Yay.
