Yay! When I posted this, you and moryssa were the first people that popped into my head that I wanted to hear from.
The reason I'm asking is because this last weekend I went to a small con outside Philly (I'm part of the con com) and had a great time as usual. It was interesting to hear back from a lot of the attendees about how much fun they had. In some ways, it reminded me of how we talk about TRB. We've built a community of great people that come together once a year and have an awesome time.
That's what made me wonder...can the community building, moment making, laid back atmosphere of a Sixthman event be brought to a traditional con? I mean, if you think about it, in a lot of ways TRB is just spring break + bandom.
I'm not looking to step on Sixthman's toes but they've built a great philosophy into making amazing moments for people to remember for a lifetime. I want to do that. If I can't work for them, maybe I can translate it in another way for a different/wider audience.
It was a vaguely crazy idea I had last night and I'm not sure where this is going. My knowledge of cons is limited. I'm not even sure if it can be translated correctly. Hence the toss out for input. :)
