Hey, I am so excited to find this community! My name is Shifra and I am Jewish. I live in NYC and speak Yiddish, English and Hebrew (4 if you include Spanish ...I am learning in school). I would really love to learn Arabic and live in Israel. Another place I would love with all my heart to go is Petra!...I am a zionist and part of the youth

really?...All the Zionists I know are begging for peace...well there is a fist time for everything :)...I am in love with arabic writing and it might be a step forward to peace if we can comunicate with one another...I actually took somewhat of a class in basic arabic...I tried so hard to say one letter correctly and almost choked on my tongue...but I am determined to get it right so maybe in a few more months, people will finally understand what I am saying :)

how do you expect anyone to "communicate" with you when they're trapped behind an apartheid wall, or caged in their homes (if they're lucky enough to have one left) under a curfew? zionism and peace? an oxymoron. a jew geniunely wishing to make peace with palestinians? a blessing.

Apartheid is not the term to be used. Apartheid was used in South Africa when blacks were not even able to do anything but they themselves did nothing at all. I know not only from the media and through the internet but also from my own personal experiance that the palestinians bomb buses, cafes, streets...and inoccent people get wounded and killed. I understand that not every palestinian straps a bomb to themselves, but how can you control your own state if you can't even control your own people? I as a Jewish Zionist have nothing against a Palestinian state, as long as there is still a Jewish one. However still as a Zionist I am conserned that if a palestinian state does form, will we be able to live side by side in peace or will you just attack Israel? I don't mean to offend anyone but this is who I am. A Jew. A Zionist. But I wish for peace. I wish to live in a country where I woun't have to worry about getting blown up. I do want peace. I hope you understand.

How would you feel if your nation was kicked out of their country so long ago in history and was always the scapegoat! The Jewish people were always the blame for everything and in reality we did nothing at all! All we want is a place to call home. It sayd in the bible that we were promised a land and we have dreamed and hoped for this forever. The term "Jewish" state is used only because the society would be under Jewish calander and whatnot. We arn't fundamentalists and there are Arab representatives in the Knesset. Look at America...its a christian country. Of coarse its the "free" land but if you look at the structure and the calander, its still under christian rule. Israel basically wants to do what america does except Jewish. That doesn't mean that Arab Israeli's arn't accepted into society. The Bedoins and Druz are accapted and they arn't Jewish. They serve in the IDF and get the same benefits as Jewish Israeli's. If you think we are selfish, just look at yourselves. Israel is a piece of land the size of a matchstick in the
