I'm moving off to live with dad in North Carolina. He's coming to pick me up thursday night. Packing is really hard.
At the current rate, staying here would end me up going through the foreclosure of the house (and probably the car again). I would never have a car of my own, a computer that was made in the past decade, or anything that I didn't work for on top of school. I'd also be stuck with a college in Alabama, instead of places I want to go like Chicago or California, and would never leave the country unless I funded the entire trip.
They went to London and Paris last summer. They just sold their old house to get a bigger one. They already have a new computer waiting for me, and both of them not only understand the concept of money (and that once you spend it all on something stupid you can't afford essential things) but HAVE a budget. I'll be able to go to college, and not just one in-state.
Yes, they have house rules and can be manipulative when you aren't going in the direction they prefer. On the other hand, mom and Jonathan are so bitter they've blown everything the fuck out of proportion. She's probably going to take that bitterness to her grave, which saddens me, but there's nothing I can do about it but try not to laugh when she talks about how much of evil, lying sinners the other half of the broken family is.
Oh, and I have a baby sister. I her name is Ellery. She's adorable. I think I've already missed out on the first year (or even two years) of her life from being so bitter about the car. Bitterness doesn't help anyone, and it doesn't hurt the people you are bitter towards. It just hurts you. I hope mom can realize that.
Jonathan has fucked himself over so much there's not much hope left, but the ticket to the future is always blank. I don't plan to make any of the mistakes he has, and the first was to give up on college.
