Weeell, with the ginormous (hurr) fan following that YnM has, I don't think the mangaka would discontinue it. From a logical perspective, the worst that I can see happening is that the continuation of Yami would be delayed while the mangaka (christ, I can't remember her name...) looked for another publisher. To have something running for so long, and putting so much time and effort into it (not to mention the amount of cash she must be raking in), dropping it altogether over a spat just... well, it doesn't compute. At all. I mean, I've threatened to give up writing "OMG FOREVAR!!11one" once or twice, but that was on impulse. Plus, this chick's a professional, so I doubt she'd stick to it (quitting, that is).
I was actually thinking of making an avatar like that today while I was at work. Except instead of "...shit", it would say something like "oh sna" or "my bad lolz".
Then again I also spent an awful lot of time thinking about what a terrible word "almost" is. *cough*
