Well, Thanksgiving weekend went pretty well. I had a fun time, it's something I think I might do again next year. Wednesday was the first actual day of my break, since I had to work Monday and Tuesday. I should have worked Wednesday, too, but I was sick. I think it had something to do with the holliday nog I drank Tuesday night w/ my roommates. Blech.
So, after not going to work, I woke up at 10ish, and started getting everything ready for Thanksgiving. I got my motorcycle winterized and put away, got my bike tires changed (They had both gone flat, somehow...), and got my car cleaned out in preparation to go to Amanda's parents' house.
I drove for a few hours, nothing too out of the ordinary happened. Had a few asshole drivers cut me off, found several people who didn't know how to drive the speed limit, the usual. There're some drivers that I really hate. Ugh.
I finally got to Amanda's house after getting myself lost once (I couldn't remember if I needed to take a right or left turn at one point... I turned wrong). As I pulled into Amanda's driveway, I called her up.
"Hey, Amanda, I think I misplaced myself. I'm not sure where I am."
"Do you see any signs?"
"No, I don't."
"What about landmarks? If you describe them to me, I can come find you."
At this point, I was walking up to her porch. "Well, I see a statue of a dog, of an owl, and another statue of a dog."
After the first statue of a dog, Amanda knew where I was and called me a brat before running out the door to give me a big hug.
After that, we did random stuff for a while, like watching a movie and playing games and whatnot. We then went up to her room, and just sat around talking for a little while. At one point, I took the Claddagh ring that she was wearing, and I transferred it to her left hand. For those who don't know, a Claddagh ring worn on the left hand is equivalent to a promise ring. For some reason, she let me transfer the ring, though I can't say way she allowed it.
The next day was Thanksgiving. We spent the entire day at her sister and brother-in-law's house. Much food was eaten, babies were played with, and so on. That night, I think I scored points with her dad by walking him through how to download pictures from his camera and save them onto the hard drive so that he can put them up onto e-bay.
Friday, we drove back to Iowa, and up to my parents' house. Leftovers were eaten, then we went to Sushi House to celebrate my little brother's birthay. I <3 Sushi House, they have so much tasty food there. After that, we went home and I found out I missed most of Jared's L5R game. Sad. :-(
Saturday was spent cleaning my room and getting stuff done around the house, so nothing really interesting went on.
Sunday was more of the same, but we got blacklights for my room and the basement.
So, yeah, there's my Thanksgiving break for all to see.
