though technically it's not mine, it's for a friends final art project:
"i'm developing a web-based art project for my digital art class based on childhood fears. i need something to work off, so if you could tell me something you or someone you know was afraid of as a child, it would be fantastic.
my site will eventually involve an interactive flash animation based on some of these fears, as well as a blog-like section where users can post their own fears (anonymously if they want)."
pretty much the conversation it starts is so fascinating and amusing, and i'd love to hear some of yours (whoever might still read this, given how infrequently i use it)
to start the ball rolling: i used to be afraid of downward escalators, stairs without backing between them, automatically flushing toilets, being pulling into a storm drain, that i wouldnt wake up at night if the fire alarm went off (given that i slept through the house alarm several times), the movie "Honey I Blew Up the Kids" because my parents wouldnt let me watch it and i was convinced the kids actually blew up... among other things...
