Ten years ago today, I got home from my sister's wedding in Las Vegas, signed online, and rather randomly met up with the person who would become my closest friend in life. The whole "online factor" makes absolutely no difference, hence the (amazing, unbelievable, incredible) ten-year time span we've going here.
And I always say the same thing at this time every year: "I can't believe it's been so long!" and then "I can't believe it hasn't actually been longer." lol Somehow our friendship feels both new and everlasting, as if it's always been.
There's no way I could ever sum up this past decade(!); I wouldn't even know where to start. All I can really think to do is send a big fat thank you card to Ed Naha and be eternally grateful for the existence of fandom - even one that might make us cringe a little, all these years later - without which we might never have met.
So Happy Anniversary,
torra!! We might not be related by blood (well, that we know of) but you're the sister of my heart, and that is far more important.

Oh, and the following quote popped up on my Flist a few days back and reminded me instantly of the two of us, along with
this song by Blackmore's Night (how much writerly magic have we spun in the midnight hours?).
Now seemed the most fitting time to share both.
Old friends, we have sought out a place to meet,
Now we chat by the window until
The candles burn out.
Talking and laughing together,
Our faces are happy
And our hearts serene.
This friendship is as pure as water;
We jot down our poems
With strong brushwork.

Well, we don't write poetry, but you get the gist. ;-)
I love you, sis, and here's to ten more.
