Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep

Dec 24, 2005 15:52

I've got several things to say today, but I'll hold off until after the holidays.

Instead I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays, however, whatever and wherever you celebrate.

And please, when you're sitting around the table tonight or tomorrow, opening gifts or just spending time with loved ones, whoever they might be, remember to count yourself blessed. Because I know that I am blessed to be here today, with my family and with so many good friends, both online and off. And despite everything else that's happened, it's terribly important to remember that.

Enjoy the day!

"I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an angel, I am as merry as a school-boy ... A merry Christmas to every-body! A happy New Year to all the world!" - Ebenezer Scrooge

"It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection and disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good-humour."

- Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
