I was bored, so I added
a new piece over on DA, probably my last of the year. It's nothing major, but it kept me quasi-occupied last night, in between wrapping presents and assembling gigantic pirate ships at 3am, and damned if that wasn't good enough for me.
Winter: The Snow Queen Tomorrow night is the Big Massive Family Christmas Eve Party down the hill, which I'm 98% sure I'm not going to. The latest word from my cousin is that they've gotten over 100 RSVPs (in a house which will only comfortably hold about 30 people) and really, isn't that reason enough not to go? The fact that it's also a pajama party (and I can't stand the thought of traveling 80+ miles in pajamas, not to mention having to wear a bra underneath) makes the whole thing even less enticing.
I'm such a party animal.
Last year I was honestly quite sick, so I used that as my convenient excuse for not showing up. This year I've got nothin', which I'll just have to suck up and take the fall for.
I'm sure 100 people won't ACTUALLY show up (the largest number I think we've ever actually gotten is somewhere around 50, which still means that the Gift Exchange/Pass Around Game literally takes HOURS) but I simply don't have the intestinal fortitude to withstand that much family togetherness right now, never mind all the socializing.
In pajamas.
Okay. The kids are here, so I'm off to bake another batch of brownies, mostly so my niece and nephews can lick the bowl and make a huge mess of themselves and the kitchen in general. Also, did you know that Andes makes
baking chips? I sure didn't, but when I spotted a bag at Super Target last night I HAD TO HAVE IT.
::nomnomnom yummy::
I think I'll try to slip some of those into the batter when Meg isn't looking. She's such a brownie purist, though. I'll probably just have to make second batch.
