Trying to get back into writing...

And I have no idea what to do. I'm working on an original piece, and I have several small mini-fics going, but...it's not getting me anywhere. And I haven't finished anything. I need to get back into things; I need to post things. I want to get back on that 100 fic challenge, but I feel like my writing's gone downhill. So here's the idea ( Read more... )

OK! I shall try to write you a drabble here!

--

"It's co~ld!" The Chosen of Tethe'alla stomped his foot in agitation, less than pleased with the dull crunch of his boot against the icy snow beneath him.

Sheena turned with her usual look of impatience, eyes narrowed warningly. "We know that. Do you think you're the only one who's freezing here?"

Zelos pouted defiantly, refusing to cave to the threatening look. If Sheena hit him, she'd hit him. At this point, he was fairly sure he was too numb to feel it anyway. "Just because you're cold too doesn't mean that I'm not suffering! I might just die from all of this!"

Lloyd turned before any violence could erupt, smiling despite everything. The young man was always smiling. "You know, Zelos, you could take a lesson from Colette." He pointed one gloved hand out ahead of himself.

Unsurprisingly, the smaller, female, Chosen of the other world was hopping from snow bank to snow bank like a jackrabbit. She was laughing to herself, grabbing handfuls of the frozen stuff and throwing it over her head like so much confetti. Zelos wanted to resent her for it; who could ever enjoy this kind of weather? Who could possibly find this at all appealing?

But as she turned, smiling so warmly she might very well melt all of the snow around her, cheeks flushed red from the chill and every laughed breath puffing out in a happy cloud around her head...He felt a bit of the ice in his own heart begin to drip away.

These kids had been through pain, they'd suffered, they'd been lied to and hurt and betrayed. And all of them -- Lloyd, Colette, Genis -- just kept smiling. Just kept moving forward. Unlike him.

Sighing heavily, swallowing that bitter lump in his throat, Zelos let out a long, over dramatic, whine and shook his head. "We can't all be little angels like Colette over there. Nature just don't agree with all of us that way!"

You're too kind! I didn't think it was that good, but I'm so glad you liked it. I haven't written any Tales fanfics before, so that you enjoyed it really means a lot. I know I'm a little rusty, and it needs work, but it feels good to do more of it.

If you have any others you'd like to see me do, I can. :D Maybe I'll do the Hubert one too.
