I got a hold of the OB, and my first appointment is Thursday :D I'm excited. We'll find out exactly how far along I am, and more general information about how to care for myself during

I will say this....your OB is going to be a very important person on your life for the next few months, and having one that isn't easy to talk to, understanding, compassionate, and willing to listen to ALL your concerns and feedback is definitely NOT something you want to deal with in the coming months.
A big part of th reason my hubby and I decided to go th route of midwives and a home birth is all the negative experiences with OBs I've had, and the stories about hospital births and doctors/nurses/the whole "assembly line" mentality modern medicine seems to have regarding childbirth. That said, it's obviously not for everyone, but at the very least, you might want to look into other OBs or midwives, just to have backup in case this one doesn't work out. A lot of midwives also work with/at hospitals, and they, as a general rule, tend to have a more "mother centric" view on childbirth. My ladies have been awesome, both of them, and I'm going in the th coming weeks (down to less than 2 weeks now!) way more relaxed and reassured than I would have otherwise. They've been with me every step of th way, and never made me feel dumb, even asking silly, basic questions.
I hope you feel better sweetie, and good luck Thur! Let us know how things work out.
Thankfully, I havn't actually spoken to MY Ob yet, just her office staff, and one of the other dr. that works there. From what I've heard from her (A few of my friends go to her) shes very much an understanding person. I also chose her because shes around my age, and has an comforting smile.
I wanted to do a home birth, and had actually started researching it a few weeks ago before I even knew I was prego because thats what I wanted, however, now I feel like I Have no time to search for a mid-wife, or do any research with how far along I might actually be, and how many medical problems I have. I also have a lot of things that could cause complications during my preg, so I'm wondering if a home birth would really be the best course of actin for my baby, as well as me :( Otherwise, I would love a mid wife, instead of a dr.
I hope your feeling well aswell, and keep counting those days!
