Seven Days: Part Four

Dec 13, 2015 00:15

Sehun was livid. He thought for a minute, and couldn’t decide whether he should laugh or cry. “I’m sorry, what did you say? You’re his what?”

“I’m Junni. Luhan and I have been dating for almost a year and I’ve come to spend the summer with him.” She rudely stated.

Feeling enraged, he chuckled. This couldn’t be happening. Not when it seemed that he and Luhan had finally started getting somewhere. Was he just using Sehun? Was he just playing with him? Is that what this was? Was this a game? How cruel. He put his hand over his mouth, as he was certain everything in his stomach wanted to regurgitate. He stepped to the side to let her in.

She slowly walked in to the house taking note of the decorations and empty beer bottles scattered around, she scanned the room for Luhan until she finally found him. “Luhan!” She dropped her luggage and ran to hug him. Everyone in the room had ceased what they were doing and were now currently gaping at the strange girl who just embraced a very stunned Luhan.

She hugged him and he could see Sehun standing by the door, an unsure pained expression that he couldn’t read. He watched him walk out the door and that’s when he snapped.

He quickly pushed Junni away and called out for Sehun walking out into the front porch, but it was dark and Sehun had gotten lost in that darkness.

“Sehun! Sehunah! Where are you?” he didn’t want Sehun to jump to conclusions. It seemed like they were finally beginning to understand each other’s feeling and now… What in the hell universe? Perfect fucking timing eh? He stormed back inside. Feelings of immense rage and hate building up and all directed toward one person.

“Junni! Come with me!” he called to her and she followed him to the backyard. “What the hell are you doing here?”

“Luhan I missed you, I came to ask you for another chance please!”

“No! What the fuck? We are over. How in the hell did you even find me?” he shouted.

“Well, Yixing said you were back home and he was nice enough to tell me what town.”

I swear I will kill him when I see him.

“Then, when I got here all I had to do was ask a couple of towns people if they knew you or your family, and well here I am.”

Luhan sighed what seemed to be the most frustrated sigh he had ever given in the entirety of his existence.

“Look, I told you that I didn’t want to be with you anymore. Nothing you say or do will make me change my mind. Why is that so difficult to comprehend?”

“Because I love you! Because I can’t stop thinking about you!”

“Stop. Just please, stop. Listen, I like someone else. And I’ve waited a really, really long time to be with that person.”

“Was it the person who answered the door?” she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

Luhan could feel his patience wearing thin, “Why do you ask?” he asked glaring at her.

“Because he looked like he was going to throw up when I told him I was your girlfriend.”

This was not happening. This could not be happening. It was bad enough Sehun had seen her hugging him but now he thinks they’re together. I need to find him.

He grabbed Junni by the arm, dragging her into the living room as he pulled her luggage and headed out the door.

“Luhan! What is going on? Where are you going?” Baekhyun shouted.

“To get rid of her,” He pointed towards Junni, “and to find Sehun.” He made his way out, shutting the door behind him.

“That’s my boy.” Baekhyun chuckled.

Sehun had made his way over to The Mile. The long walk gave him time to reflect on everything that had happened. If he hadn’t put his walls down, if he hadn’t opened up his heart again, the heartache wouldn’t have returned. But here he was. Drinking it away. He only had a couple of beers back home, but it wasn’t enough. He wanted to drown in liquor if he could and just forget everything that’s happened. Go back to the city and keep living his life the way he had been for the past couple of years.

Sure, it was lonely but it beat the hell out of feeling pain. He had already drunk so much and he still couldn’t forget. He at least wanted to get the image of that arrogant girl hugging Luhan out of his mind.

“Fuck you Luhan!” he slurred. “Fuck you and yer’ beetifool stoopid face!”

he didn’t know what time it was but he was sure he had been there a while. He decided to head back because, fuck if he was going to let Luhan get away with anything! Over his dead body! Luhan would get a piece of his mind tonight and then he would leave and never come back or ever see him again. The thought alone hurt him so much more than finding out he was in a fucking relationship. Fuck I am so fucking screwed. He staggered his way back to the cottage.

He stumbled in to find everyone had already left except for Baekhyun, Kyungsoo and Chanyeol who were all asleep on the couch. He knocked over a couple of picture frames on a side table, waking Baekhyun up.

“Jesus Sehun, where the hell have you been?”

“Where the hell is Looooooohan?” he slurred.

“He’s not here Sehun.”

“Of course he’s not. Lemme guess he took his stooped girlfriend on a date right? Fuck- fuckin’ asshole.”

“Sehun, its not what you think, I don’t know what’s going on either but please just wait for him to get home and he will explain everything.” Baekhyun tried to reason with him.

“Oh, I will wait for him to get home, don’t ya worry ‘bout that.”

He made his way upstairs to the bedroom and Baekhyun stirred Kyungsoo and Chanyeol awake so they could leave. “Come on, he’s home, let’s go.” He said as the other two groggily made their way out of the house.

Luhan drove like a mad man on a mission. He didn’t care how fast he was going. He needed to get back home and talk to Sehun. He couldn’t have him believing that lie another minute. He was originally going to drive Junni to the bus station but it was already past midnight and the last bus had already left for the night. No way in hell was she staying over at his place or at any hotel in town. So he decided to drive her back to the city.

It would have taken about half an hour if there weren’t such ridiculous traffic at one in the fucking morning. Fuck you left and right universe. This shit ain’t funny. His head had started to throb now because Junni was incessantly crying in the back seat and Luhan swore if he had to endure more of that torture he would literally skive the car off the road.

He made it to the city an hour later and dropped her off at the nearest train station. “Listen Junni, please do not, DO NOT” he emphasized, “look for me anymore.” And drove off at the speed of light. He tried phoning Sehun but it was to no avail. He wouldn’t pick up. He must have tried at least a dozen times. Eventually his calls just got sent to voicemail. He arrived home in record time as he rushed inside and made his way up the stairs. His heart was beating uncontrollably as he approached the bedroom.

What he found astounded him. There was Sehun asleep on the bed. Torn pages of books scattered all across the room. He walked in quietly and picked up a couple of the ripped pages and read them “His smile is like the sun, radiant and bright…”

He picked up another, “Perhaps I can consider myself a healed man. The pain of not seeing him seems to have withered away…” and another, “He left permanent scars in my heart. There is no forgetting.” These were all pages from Zen’s books.

He approached Sehun on the bed who was clutching ‘Memoirs of A Lost Summer’ in his chest but the pages were all equally torn out like the rest of them. Luhan didn’t know why Sehun would have taken out his anger on the books. He tried to wake him up so that he can explain but Sehun had passed out. He reeked of alcohol and when Luhan asked him if he was ok he mumbled out a soft “Fuck you, Luhan hyung” Luhan felt his heart shattering.

“Sehunnie, please let me explain…” He said as Sehun turned over, seeping in and out of consciousness.

“No! Don’t talk to me. You used me! You don’t care ‘bout me!”

“Sehunnie, no! That’s not true at all!”

“Yes it is! This whole time you’ve had someone... what did I expect anyway? I’ll always be your little dongsaeng and nothing more!”

“Sehun please…”

“All of this!” He picked up the papers and crumpled them up as he weakly threw them at Luhan’s face.

“These, I thought they were helping me forget about you! The more I wrote, the less- the less I felt. But I knew… I knew… it was all in vain…”

“Sehunnie what are you trying to say?”

“It was all in vain because at the end of the day, no matter what I wrote, no matter what I did to forget you, it was never, never enough. You were always there, I was never happy because I was never with you!” he yelled at Luhan with tears in his eyes.

Luhan was confused. “Sehun, are you telling me that you wrote these? Are you telling me that you wrote all of these thinking about- about me? Sehun, are you Zen?”

Sehun laughed. Tears still falling, he opened his eyes, which burned from crying; a sensation his eyes had already grown accustomed to, “Didn’t you think that what you were reading seemed the least bit familiar? You’re so stupid hyung. You bought my books and you loved reading about my heartbreak. Isn’t it ironic? I’m still living it see? It hasn’t gone away yet… Don’t worry I’ll give you enough reading material to last you a lifetime!”

As sharp as a dagger, the words pierced through his heart.

“Sehun, please! You have to understand! That girl is not my girlfriend! Sehun, are you listening to me?” he shook Sehun to try to wake him.

“Not… listening… anymore… leaving…first thing… in the… morning…” and he was out for the count.

Luhan tried waking him up again but it was no use. He gathered all the papers and put them on top of the dresser. He took Sehun’s shoes off and tucked him into bed crying through it all.

Luhan cried that night. He cried the most he’s ever cried. He hugged Sehun from behind as he cried and the other slept. Everything had taken some time to settle in. It was so much. But what hurt him the most was the fact that Sehun had loved him all those years, the fact that Sehun had hurt so much on account of him. And what had he done? He had practically forgotten about him while the other tried to carry on with his heartache.

Indeed he had read Sehun’s work and now that he realized he was writing about them, it did seem familiar. But how was he supposed to know? He blamed himself for not having the courage that last summer to clear things up with him. He blamed himself for not keeping in touch. He blamed himself for all the pain Sehun had gone through.

He hugged Sehun tighter as he sobbed onto his back. “I’m so sorry my love, I wish I would have realized it sooner. Please forgive me.”

Luhan was pretty certain he was already in love with Sehun. The time they had been spending together had been the happiest he’s had in so long. And he knew he wanted Sehun to be a part of his life in so many ways. There was no way he was letting him go again. He would make up for all the lost time. He will make sure he himself, who broke that gentle heart would be the same to mend it even if takes him a lifetime to do it.

~

Saturday morning Sehun woke up with a pounding headache. He looked over at the bed and wondered where Luhan was and why he wasn’t cuddling with him, when suddenly everything came rushing back to him.

He sat up and palmed his face as he sighed, images from last night’s events bombarding his mind. From how close he and Luhan had gotten to the girl, to the drinking, to the heartbreak.

He searched for his phone and when he found it he saw 14 missed calls from Luhan all ranging from midnight to 2 in the morning. Had he come back home? The last thing he remembers is tearing up every single page of words he had ever written that were about Luhan. If only he could tear him out of his heart the same way.

The door opened and he looked up at a very nervous Luhan carrying a tray of food.

“Sehunnie,” he smiled, a gentle smile, “You’re awake, I made you soup.”

“Luhan, I’m not really hungry.”

Luhan moved closer and sat the tray by the bedside table; he looked up at Sehun with uncertainty and sorrow in his eyes.

“Sehunnie, please eat. I have a couple of things that I need to do today so I wont be home until later, but promise me that you will still be here when I get back. There’s something I have to show you.”

“Luhan, I don’t know-“

“Please Sehun, just wait for me. If you still want to leave afterwards, I wont stop you, but please, just wait for me to come home.”

“Alright.”

With that, Luhan sadly smiled at Sehun as he made his way out of the room. Why is he the one looking sad? Sehun asked himself. He was the one with the broken heart. Then he remembered telling Luhan he would pack up and leave this morning. I hope I didn’t say anything I would regret.

He heard the front door close and Luhan driving off. He got up slightly, his feet touching the cool floor as he looked at the bowl of soup, smiling at the thought that his first morning here, he made hangover soup for Luhan and what would be his last day here, Luhan had made some for him.

Last day here… It hurt to think about leaving him when in his mind they had made some type of breakthrough. Fuck my life. Why did it end this way? Why didn’t he just say he was seeing someone?

He grabbed the bowl and drank a couple of spoonfuls of the soup, not surprised at how warm it made his body feel. He stood, undressed and grabbed his phone as he walked over to the shower. Sehun wasn’t much of a bath person, but seeing how it would be the last time he’d be here, he placed his phone down on a little shelf Luhan had right next to the bathtub and he turned the faucet on as warm water came gushing out.

While he waited for the tub to be filled, he grabbed Luhan’s favorite scented wash and poured some in, inhaling the sweet smell of raspberries and vanilla.

He walked over to the cabinet and opened the door as he searched for a little matchbook. He struck one of the matches and began lighting the candles Luhan liked to keep surrounding the bathtub.

He tossed the match, turned off the faucet when the bath was full as he stepped in and sunk into the warm space where he planned on getting lost in thoughts of his hyung for one last time before he walked out of his life forever.

Luhan’s first stop was the travel agency. He spent a good hour and half in there, which was a ridiculous amount of time to waste because Luhan had absolutely zero time to waste today. It was already almost noon and the line, for some reason was literally out the door and Luhan mentally cursed the universe. It was as if everyone and anyone wanted to get out of town that day.

By the time lunchtime came around he quickly placed an order for delivery and sent Sehun a quick text message, “Sehunnie, I ordered takeout, the delivery guy should be there soon. Please eat! Its all been paid for! I’ll be there soon I promise, Luhan.”

He stood outside of his next stop. The shop was lavish. He had already made up his mind and this was one of the things he was most certain he had wanted to do. Even if Sehun were to reject him, he would put his all out there. He walked in immediately knowing what it was he was going in for. There were absolutely no doubts in his mind. He could only think of Sehun and how happy he made him as he stared at the beautiful set in his hands.

Sehun didn’t know how long he had been in the bathtub but he deduced it had been quite sometime since his hands had turned wrinkly. He had fallen asleep, the warm water and his hyung’s smell surrounding his senses. He had dreamt of wrecking Luhan on the bed countless of times.

He had dreamt of fucking him senseless into the sheets for breaking his heart multiple times. He chuckled and didn’t think it was such a bad idea. His phone vibrating had been what had awakened him. A text from Luhan saying he bought him lunch.

“Stop being so perfect all the time… don’t you know how hard it is for me?”

He got out of the bathtub and dried himself with Luhan’s towel. He dejectedly walked back into the bedroom, got dressed and waited for his food to arrive.

It was after 4 o’clock and Luhan still wasn’t home. Sehun figured it was for the best; in the meantime he had taken it upon himself to start packing. Every bit of clothing he put into his duffel bag pained his heart. He didn’t know why he had to be the one to go through all the pain; I mean what had he done in his past lifetime that he was suffering so much in this one? And ok, granted it was just an emotional state but everything else didn’t matter to Sehun.

Everything he had accomplished or acquired, that could all go to hell. He didn’t have the one thing his heart longed for. He couldn’t have the one person who mattered the most. He beat out every single person that had come into his life. He was why Sehun was who he was, and yet he was so distant.

After packing, he walked over to the front porch and stared out into the sea. It was so beautiful and he would miss it. That sea had been a witness of so many wonderful memories. It witnessed a friendship that bloomed into an unrequited love and it's devastating ending. It would be the witness of so much heartbreak. Sehun thought maybe he was overreacting but fuck that. His heart was in pieces and all he could think about was every sad metaphor he had ever read.

He sighed for the umpteenth time as he recollected everything that happened last night. He was sure he was forgetting to remember something but he wasn’t sure what. “Dancing with Luhan, getting horny with Luhan, playing spin the bottle with Luhan, kissing Luhan on the forehead,” he smiled at the thought of Luhan blushing.

“Then the doorbell rang, arrogant girlfriend with the ugly cheap suitcase, getting drunk and wasted, crying my eyes out, ripping up a million pages… yea that had been fun and it sure as hell made me feel better, confessing to Luhan, going back to sleep, waking up to a pounding headache - WAIT! Holy shit! Fuck!”

~

Luhan sat while he waited for his bento boxes. His palms were sweaty and he had already wasted so much time. It was almost dinnertime and he should have been done with everything two hours ago, but he had been stalling. He didn’t know whether Sehun could or would forgive him. He didn’t know what he would do with himself if he never saw Sehun again. The thought alone was enough to break him into pieces. He had been rehearsing what he would say to him in his mind over and over again but no matter how prepared he thinks he was, there was no way of knowing how this whole thing would pan out.

He finally grabbed dinner and started the drive home. The sun would soon start setting and he hoped that for once, just once, the universe would be on his side. He arrived at his special spot by the beach; he set up everything and then took the small drive home to finally take the first step into what would either be the happiest day of his life, or the worst.

He walked in to find Sehun lay back on the couch with his arm covering his face and the other dangling off the couch. He kneeled in front of him grabbing his dangling arm and setting it on his chest. He noticed Sehun still wore that paper wristband from two days ago. I guess you weren’t joking when you said you would never take it off, he thought as he examined it, the lettering had already been washed off and it was starting to tear at the edges. It warmed Luhan’s heart and it gave him a little bit of hope.

“Sehun, Sehunnie, wake up.” He cooed gently and Sehun stirred.

“Mmmm… what time is it?”

“It’s around 7:30, come on get up, I have to show you something.” He said softly as he stood up and stretched his hand out for Sehun.

Sehun was hesitant. But he grabbed his hyung’s hand as he led him through the living room and out the door. They walked the five-minute stretch to Luhan’s spot silently while holding hands. Sehun wanting to say something about his confession but didn’t know where to start.

He felt embarrassed that he had unwillingly let go of his emotions in that state and he wanted to know what Luhan had to say about it. But he would be patient. For once he would trust the universe, not force anything and just go with the flow.

When Luhan halted, he took out a handkerchief from his pocket, looked up at Sehun and smiled as he wrapped it around his eyes.

“Hyung, what are you doing?” Sehun asked curiously.

“You’ll see, just don’t peek!” Luhan said as Sehun heard him shuffling away. He hummed while he anxiously waited. And when Luhan returned, he took the blindfold off and what he saw took his breath away.

There was this immense rock covered with a red blanket, lit candles around it and what looked like fresh sushi in the center.

“Its dinner.” Luhan said, shyly.

It’s more than that, Sehun thought as they made their way up the rock.

They sat quietly as they ate, surrounded by all of those candles.. what was Sehun supposed to think? Luhan hadn’t said anything and was actually the most awkward Sehun had ever seen him.

The wind was blowing softly as it ruffled Luhan’s hair and Sehun couldn’t look away. This could be the last time he lovingly looks at the boy who captured his heart at such a young age.

He had stopped eating and had set his food to the side. He was now looking out into the horizon.

“It's beautiful isn’t it?” Luhan said, referring to the sunset, reminding him of his first day here.

“It is. Breathtaking. I’m going to miss it.” Sehun answered softly.

He failed to see the sadness in Luhan’s eyes.

He turned to look at him as he began to say, “Hyung, I wanted to apologize to you…for my uhm, behavior yesterday.”

“Sehun, please dont.” Luhan cut him off, and Sehun looked at him with a puzzled expression.

“Luhan, I- I don’t understand. What is all this? I mean, shouldn’t you be with your girlfriend right now? Where is she even?

“Sehun,” Luhan sighed. “She is not my girlfriend.”

Sehun thought he misheard what he said. “Wait. What do you mean? She said she was your girlfriend, and then-then you two left together.”

"She was my girlfriend Sehun. We broke up before I came back here for the summer.”

“So then, why did she-“

“She was reluctant. She didn’t want to end it. But I no longer had feelings for her. I don’t think I ever did in the entirety of the 8 months that we dated.”

Sehun didn’t know what to feel at this moment. Relief mixed in with confusion. He had a thousand questions for Luhan, but he would let him speak.

Luhan took a deep breath as the sun continued to set. This was it. This was what he had planned from the beginning. There was no going back. He put the plates to the side as he inched closer to Sehun, grabbing his hands; he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

“Sehun, what you saw yesterday, was me, caught in a desperate act of clearing things up for you. I didn’t want you to misunderstand Sehun.” He opened his eyes and smiled at Sehun as he brought his hand to caress his cheek. The wind blew softly as a tear escaped his eyes.

“This place right here, this is my special place. I know it sounds silly, but I used to come here a lot when I was younger. To think, to watch the sunset, to stare at the stars... Nobody knew about it, not even you.“ He inhaled as he looked at Sehun’s watery eyes.

“It was here Sehun, right here. Where I realized how much I love you. It was here where I realized that your smile is my most favorite thing in the world. Where I realized how much happiness you gave me, it was here where I realized how much I never wanted to be without you.” His thumb brushed away the tears that fell from Sehun’s face.

“I can’t even begin to apologize to you for the silent heartbreak that you went through because of me. All the pain you endured,” he brought his hand and placed it over Sehun’s chest as he felt his heart beat erratically.

“This, that should only know happiness and love and laughter was suffering all these years silently and I- I was completely unaware,” he wiped the tears from his face, the gentle wind drying his cheeks.

“Sehun,” he whispered as he looked at Sehun’s eyes that were now closed, “Open your eyes for me.” And he did, they were filled with tears.

“I love you.”

And the tears fell.

“I love you Sehun, I love you with all of my heart, I love you with all of my soul, and I’m willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to you, if you will let me.”

Was this really happening? Sehun didn’t know if this moment was real. Was it another one of his daydreams? He had waited so long to hear those words and now that he was, he didn’t know if it was real. The emotions were overwhelming and for once in his life, he was at a loss for words.

Sehun palmed his face as he brushed the tears away and looked at Luhan. With a light hearted laugh he said, “You’re so cheesy hyung,” and Luhan laughed. They laughed and cried together as the sun had finally set. The wind making the flames of the candles flicker. Luhan set himself up on his knees as he stood in front of Sehun.

“By the way, if I had known that all this time you felt that way about me, I wouldn’t have hesitated to do this,”

He slid his hands into Sehun’s hair and Sehun shivered closing his eyes as he leaned in to the soft touch of Luhan’s fingers, which sent an electrifying rush of pleasure through every nerve in his body. He gently took Sehun’s cheeks into his hands as he slowly closed the distance, gently brushing his lips over Sehun’s. He let them linger under his own, letting him anticipate it, his breath ghosting over his own. Sehun was weak under his touch and all he could do was revel in the moment as he let the waves of ecstasy from Luhan’s presence take over.

They both looked at each other; dark hooded eyes, breathing ragged. There was fire in Sehun’s eyes and Luhan held his gaze, the heat matching his own. Luhan kissed the corners of Sehun’s mouth teasing gently. He mumbled, “I’m so crazy about you,” as he finally pressed his lips onto Sehun’s. Tasting the pure bliss and indulging in the euphoria that up until this moment he’s only been able to imagine. Luhan swore his lips weren’t meant to kiss anyone else.

His lips are warm, Sehun thought. He kissed him carefully, nibbling and suckling at his lower lip. He took his mouth like he had been longing to since the moment he saw him walking in drunk and disoriented that first night. Luhan opened his mouth and allowed Sehun to explore all of him. Their tongues danced together in a slow and sensual dance. He was unhurried. Giving into what he’s wanted for so long and wanting to savor every second of it. He sucked on Luhan’s velvety tongue as the latter emitted a moan and it was the most beautiful sound Sehun had ever heard.

Luhan breathed in all of Sehun and in the midst of it all, he could smell his own scent on Sehun’s skin, awakening every possessive and territorial bone in his body. Sehun belonged to him now. He was his. He had always been his. He deepened the kiss as if all this time he’d been in an endless drought and he had finally found his oasis.

The waves gently crashed in the distance as they pulled away, breathing heavily looking at each other with lidded eyes that were filled with endless want and need. Sehun placed his forehead against Luhan’s as he rubbed his thumb over Luhan’s lips.

“I’ve waited a very, very long time for that,” a hoarse whisper left his mouth.

Luhan opened his eyes and closed the gap once more, biting and tugging at Sehun’s bottom lip freely and Sehun let out a sensuous moan.

“Mmm… don’t tempt me,” he breathed out.

Luhan pulled away and gave Sehun a small peck on the lips as he took something out of his back pocket.

“One more thing...’ He said as Sehun looked at him curiously.

He pulled out a red squared box with silver “Cartier” engraved on the outside. Holy shit! Fuck! Sehun thought as his heart went erratic.

“This,” Luhan said as he opened the box and Sehun’s eyes went wide. “Is to replace this,” he said as he tore off the worn out band off Sehun’s wrist. It was a white gold open band that fit snug on his wrist.

“That’s more like it.” He said as he smiled.

“Hyung- what? You didn’t have to…”

“Yes I did,” he said as he pulled out another box. This one showcased a closed band with a screwdriver.

“Sehun, when you said you didn’t want to take off that cheap admissions wristband because you wanted to remember that day forever, I felt the same. Eventually it will wear off, but this,” He said as he used the screwdriver to unscrew the bracelet open.

“These will last forever, these aren’t rings, Sehun, obviously I’m not proposing marriage… yet,” he smirked and Sehun felt his heart miss a beat.

“But I am proposing to love you forever, and I am giving you my heart and my eternal love. Here, take this and lock it.” Sehun grabbed the screwdriver as he locked the bracelet onto Luhan’s wrist.

“Hyung, I- I-” he stuttered handing Luhan the screwdriver.

“You hold on to it. I will wear this for eternity if I have to. The only person who will be able to unlock it, will be you. They will be a symbol of our love Sehun, and my commitment to love you until the end of time, think of it as sort of you having the key to my heart.”

“Hyung you really are so cheesy!” Sehun teased as he grabbed Luhan for another kiss. His lips being his new found addiction.

The moon had made its appearance as Luhan blew out the candles and leaned back, motioning Sehun to come over next to him. Sehun laid his back against Luhan’s chest as the latter wrapped his arms around him, both peering out into the vast, starry sky.

Sehun sighed contentedly, “This is the happiest I’ve been in so long. This week has been the most stressful, yet the happiest of my life. And I don’t think I would trade or change it for anything in the world.”

“The universe may seem like its against us but everything happens for a reason. We may have parted a long time ago, we may have lost contact but I would like to believe that it was fighting one way or another for this moment right here. This is where we are meant to be, in each other’s arms.”

He tilted his head and placed a kiss on Sehun’s cheek. He looked up at the stars and it seemed like they shone brighter than ever.

“I have a lot of making up to do.”

“There will be plenty of time for that.”

“And I don’t want to waste a single second of it.” Luhan said as he wrapped his arms tighter around Sehun. This was where he was meant to be. There was no doubt about it.

~

Sunday morning Luhan woke up to small tickles on his face. Sehun tracing every feature from the beauty mark on top of his eyebrow, to his nose, to the scar on his cheek, down to the scar on his bottom lip, much like Luhan had done to him before.

“Beautiful,” he mumbles.

“What are you doing?” Luhan smiled, “Memorizing my face?”

“No.” He kissed his rosy lips, “I already know it by heart.”

Their faces were glowing after the intense, hungry lovemaking from the night before, their bodies felt battered and worn out but sated.

Luhan cuddled into Sehun more and buried his face on the crook of his neck and Sehun smiled lovingly, “What time does our flight leave?”

“12:30. I hope you know the sacrifice I’m making by getting on that plane,” Luhan pouted.

“I know, don’t worry, we’ll conquer your fear, little by little.” He smiled as he kissed his forehead.

Luhan blushed, “Sehun, I have a confession to make…” Luhan said nervously and Sehun’s heart sank a little.

“When you were sleeping, I kind of sort of… stole a kiss…” bringing his hands up to his face and covering his eyes.

“You what!” Sehun said trying to pry his hands away from his face.

“Well its not my fault you were so hard to resist, and um… not only that, but um… while you were sleeping, I sort of violated you a couple of times too... “ He said as he blushed.

“Well… actually... about that…” Sehun trailed off, smirking.

“Wait- don’t tell me you were awake?”

“Maybe I was, maybe I wasn’t.” Sehun said nonchalantly.

“Why you little!” Luhan rolled on top of Sehun as he began to tickle him until the other couldn’t breathe. “You have a lot of explaining to do!” he scolded.

“I will, don’t worry,” Sehun said as he was trying to catch his breath.

Luhan looked at Sehun with those crescent eyes and that bright radiant smile that he loved so much. He blushed as he suddenly remembered something.

“Sehunnie, remember the day I first saw you? That night that I was drunk and you were stepping out of the shower? I just remembered every detail… including the things you said…and you kind of... sort of... promised me something…” he blushed, knowing what he was asking of Sehun.

“A promise is a promise.” Sehun smiled as he lost himself under the sheets and Luhan swore he saw the stars again.

Sunday afternoon, 6:00 p.m.

Luhan and Sehun’s mom’s stumbled upon an empty beach house Sunday evening. They made their way inside only to find a note on the fridge that read:

“Dear moms, something came up and we had to take a business trip together. Don’t worry about us, don’t know how long the trip will be but have a happy summer!

P.S. Please don’t forget to feed our lovely daughter, Ponyo!

Love, HunHan <3”

“HunHan? Ha! Business trip my ass!” chuckled Sehun’s mom as she saw a Santorini pamphlet by the kitchen sink.

“Lovely daughter?” Luhan’s mom asked as she looked around and finally saw a little aquarium sitting on top of the marble countertop, with the tiniest little goldfish swimming around.

“Ponyo?” The fish stared back at her as she blew tiny little air bubbles. Picking up a plastic bottle filled with small pellets, she smiled happily as she looked over at Sehun’s mom who was still looking through the brochure.

“It looks like we’re grandmothers!”
