From: khrysallis1106 Title: breathing you in (suffocates me) Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 7,900 Prompt: la douleur exquise: the excruciating pain that comes from wanting someone you can’t have. Warning/s:[Spoiler (click to open)]Major character death. Implied suicide. Mentions of rimming and 69 etc, bad p0rn
I don't know who wrote this-but bless. The writing style; building off raw emotions rather than intricate details. I could feel the heartache, and understand Sehun's needs of selfish love and Luhan's selfish heart. And maybe it's because I understand what it feels like to want someone all to yourself; whether it be a friend and someone just as dear. I almost felt guilty when I read this; the selfishness. I almost felt angry towards Luhan. I loved the relationship between Sehun and Luhan, the lost boy and a beautiful prince is of a cliche trope; but the way it was written, it felt original and new. And the death-it hit me hard, never exactly telling us that he died but the way he died hurt me so much.
Sobs hello ♥♥ thank you for your lovely comment;;; Tbh I was worried about the premise being a little too cliche (because hell, I'm sure there are lots of peasant-who-falls-in-love-with-prince fics out there) but I'm glad it turned out well ♥
Thank you so much for this beautiful fic. It's everything I wanted in an angst-filled royalty!au and it's probably one of the best I've ever read. Sehun's suicide wasn't something I expected, but there actually wasn't any other choice for him, and you wrote his death so subtlely and naturally. I loved this from beginning to end.
I was actually contemplating between having Sehun agree to Luhan's request for him to stay and continue on their trysts after his wedding to Miyoung, but in the end some twisted part of my brain decided that it's best to kill him off instead u__u
This is a few weeks too late but /hands you tissues ♥
Honestly, I get what you're saying about Luhan, about him being selfish, but I guess that's human nature. Everyone's selfish when it comes to love, wanting the other person to devote everything to them, and to ignore the responsibilities on their shoulders; but I guess Luhan in this story is just too responsible towards his kingdom to sacrifice his love for Sehun, no matter how reluctant he is?

Thank you for this beautiful story. Now all I wanna do is to cry and re-read it again, cause I'm a masochist as Sehun.
