well it's official. not only did we have the first snow of the season, but i saw the first fully-lit christmas tree in someone's front window tonight. i mean, i know it's only 6 weeks away, but c'mon - it's still 6 weeks away for christsakes!

Yeah - I got somethin' to say about that ...

My mother was decorating her Christmas tree tonight - she was drinking wine and saying, "If it were only snowing right now, I would be in heaven"

The only thing to do in situations such as this is roll your eyes. That's pretty much how I handled the whole thing.

yeah. having it be all "buy your christmas crap now!!" in the stores starting around halloween is more than enough. i don't need to see people actually decorating and celebrating before thanksgiving. that's a bit much. maybe out there in the rockies some people get fooled into thinking it's later in the year than it really is by the snow. out here people are just morons.

People are morons in the rockies as well. We had our first snow last week, though the town had already put lights in the trees on the pedestrian mall and several intrepid shops had christmas items in the windows way before halloween (and way way before the snow). i get more excited for thanksgiving than i do christmas. i've always had good thanksgivings... the december holidays have always been shitty, and seem to get worse every year.
