(no subject)
Recap of the last couple of days:
Wednesday, Kari and I left for Winona at about 12:30 after a dizzying search for my driver's license and debit card. They were in Chris' truck from when we had gone to Winona a few days before.
On the way, we stopped in the Wisconsin Dells to go to the outlet mall. Kari got some awesome boots from the Gap.
After that, we got into Winona and then decided to backtrack and go to Olive Garden for dinner. It was good, if you were wondering. We then stopped at Dairy Queen and got some ice cream, cause it's cool. After that, we watched a bunch of episodes of the OC on DVD. Season 2=especially addicting. We both fell asleep at about midnight-ish.
The next morning, we woke up at about 8:45, and then watched more OC. Kari showered, then I showered, then we watched a little more OC, then went to get food, gas, and Jake. We headed towards the Cities, and picked up Sam at the Cannon Falls McDonalds on the way.
We wound up getting downtown at probably 2:30 or 3. We parked in the "safe parking ramp", then walked around, got Starbucks, went into random stores, and waited for Claudia and Amanda to arrive. We stood outside First Ave for about 2.2, during which Rose said hi :-), and then we went to Applebees for dinner. It was good. Haha.
Doors were at 6, and I wasn't sure whether the show started at 6:30 or 7, so at 6:15 we left Applebees and went to the venue. Thank goodness we did! Right when we walked inside, there was a set time sheet, and sure enough, it said, "DAVE MELILLO-6:30". We got situated right as he was starting. It was weird seeing him completely acoustic, especially for "Morris County Blues" because it's such an upbeat song. He played "For The Sake Of Remembering", and it was good and I was excited. I'd never heard it live before.
Four Letter Lie was next, and seeing Sam and Amanda's reactions were absolutely hilarious. "Why is he screaming?!!?!" Oh boy.
During White Light Riot, Claudia goes, "Sarah, look, Dave just walked by." Of course, Kari and I vamoosed from the crowd to see him, but he was backstage. We hung out on the side and watched the rest of White Light Riot's set, and Quietdrive's set. (By the way, I am almost 100% sure I saw my ex-boyfriend during Quietdrive. Awwwwwkard.) Right at the end of Quietdrive's set, Kari saw Dave standing there awkwardly, so we got his attention, and he was all Dave-ish, ("Say-raw!!! What's up?! Kai-ree!"), and then he was like, "I have to go do merch, so follow me." We wrestled our way through the crowd in an attempt to follow him, and hung out to the side. I texted Claudia to tell her where we were, so she could find us, and then Claudia left to take Amanda back to St. Thomas, and Jake went with her. Sam, Kari and I just chilled, and got tired of waiting for the crowd to die down, so I went to Dave and said, "Hey, do you want me to go get your present and bring it back?" and he's like, "Naw, no one is buying anything from me, I'll walk you to your car to get it," so he came with to get the Bruce Springsteen boxset thing I got him for Christmas.
After that, he left the parking ramp, and we left to go back to Claudia's dad's townhouse in Apple Valley. We stopped at Wendy's, cause Claud got lost by St. Thomas, and then we went back and watched America's Funniest Home Videos. Sam fell asleep first, then Kari. Claudia hung out with us for a while, then she went to lay down, so Jake and I watched Food Network for a while. Emeril Live was greaaaaat. Jake drank too much, and was being funny. After Wolfgang Puck was on, we both went to go to sleep, and then Claudia and I started giggling a lot, and it was great, and then Jake was lame and fell asleep.
We woke up at 7:40 (wayyyy too early, let me tell you), and left the townhouse at 8. I dropped Sam off in Randolph, and then drove to Winona and dropped Jake off at East Lake. The drive home was so long, and tiring (since I was already exhausted.) I stopped and got gas in Portage (I think), and then got home at about 1:30. My mom and I went and ran some errands, and got sandwiches, and watched School of Rock. Now, here I am typing everything out that makes me sound super lame.
Alright.
I move in like, four days or something. That sucks.
