Hi! I'm back... finally :)

Centuries of Experience, or "Do I Dazzle You?"
Kibum/Donghae, Hankyung/Heechul, some Kyuhyun/Sungmin, Kangin/Leeteuk, Yesung/Ryeowook (but barely)
Humor/Romance, rated PG-13 for language and sexual situations, 7833 words
Summary: (AU) Donghae has many reasons to believe that Kim Kibum, the new kid in his class, is a vampire. (Twilight parody)

"New kid today! I wonder if he's cute." The girls who sat a few rows in front of Donghae were chattering excitedly, as they had been the entire week. It was rare to get a transfer student in the middle of the semester, but apparently someone new would be joining their class today. It was the source of much gossip for the students of SM High, especially amongst the girls.

"I can't believe he's from America!" said one girl. "I bet he's fluent in English." She swooned.

Someone's phone vibrated, and its owner jumped to remove it from her bag. She read a text message before showing it around eagerly. "Da-mi from Class 2A said she caught a glimpse of him in the head teacher's office! Apparently he's gorgeous!!"

They all burst into giggles and whispered loudly into each others' ears. From his seat by the window, Donghae watched them boredly with his headphones on. They were noise-canceling, thank God. He would probably go insane without them. Around him, many of his male classmates were holding their heads in their hands, or complaining loudly to each other, or, in Sungmin's case, showing the utmost interest in the girls' conversations.

Donghae sighed. Sungmin already had a boyfriend, but he was never one to pass up on some good eye candy.

"He's coming!" shrieked someone as she ran in through the door, dropped her bag on the ground, and sat at her desk. The girls immediately turned to face the blackboard, and Sungmin gave Donghae a wink. Donghae rolled his eyes and pulled off his headphones, looking toward the front door as well. He couldn't lie and say he wasn't interested in seeing this guy - from the things he'd overheard about him, the new kid was nothing short of a modern-day Adonis.

The classroom door opened again and their teacher came inside, followed by a boy with unruly black hair. Eh, Donghae thought initially, he's nothing special, but then the boy looked his way and Donghae's eyes did a double take, because for a moment he looked like he was sparkling. A few seats away, someone giggled.

"Everyone," said their teacher, clapping his hands to get their attention. The action was unnecessary though, for everyone in the class was already silent and watching the new boy with interest. The boy wasn't looking back at them curiously, though, nor was he staring determinedly at his own feet. Instead, he was watching Donghae, only Donghae, with a cold, dark stare that gave Donghae chills. Donghae looked somewhere else and then back at the boy, but he hadn't looked away.

"This is class 2D's newest student," continued their teacher as Sungmin gave Donghae a questioning look. "Please," he said, turning to the boy, "introduce yourself."

The boy finally looked away from Donghae and at the class as a whole, and broke into a smile. And boy, did he smile. He looked like a different person when he smiled - charming, easy-going, friendly - and even Donghae felt his heartbeat increase a little bit. "I'm Kim Kibum," he said in a low voice. "It's nice to meet all of you, please treat me well." He bowed.

"Kibum-sshi, please take a seat over there," said the teacher pointing. Donghae realized with a start he was pointing at the desk next to him. "Right next to Donghae - Donghae, please wave." Donghae gave a quick wave and turned red. Of course he would get the seat next to me, he thought as the boy walked over, and put his things down. Of course the only empty seat would be the one to my right. This was too perfect, like something out of those trashy harlequin novels Sungmin read when he thought no one was looking. Attractive new student has eyes only for (insert main lead here), sits next to him in class... What's next? Donghae thought as the boy took his seat and didn't even spare Donghae a glance. I'm assigned to be his tutor? Show him around school?

First period started shortly after. Kibum, Donghae noticed, didn't once look in Donghae's direction, or make eye contact, or acknowledge him in any way. It was weird, in Donghae's opinion, especially after he'd stared him down when he first came into the room. If anything, it seemed like Kibum wanted to be as far away from him as possible - he was leaning to his right, away from Donghae, staring determinedly at the teacher. When Donghae dropped his pencil and reached down between them to get it, Kibum tensed up and moved his desk away a little. At this point, Donghae was sure it was intentional, and he gave Kibum a dark look before going back to his note-taking.

At lunchtime, Donghae and Sungmin walked over to their usual table in the cafeteria, and Sungmin immediately began chattering excitedly to their friends. "We got a new kid today," he said excitedly as he sat down between Kyuhyun and Shindong, pecking Kyuhyun quickly on the cheek. "He's really hot, and mysterious too. They say he's from America."

Kyuhyun, Sungmin's boyfriend, frowned, jealous of this new American boy. Sungmin laughed and hugged him. "Don't worry Kyu, I only have eyes for you of course!" Kyuhyun cheered up immediately.

Heechul, who was a senior, spoke up from the other side of the table. "I've heard tons about this new kid," he said, leaning forward. Heechul always loved his gossip. "Kim Kibum, right? Even the people in my year are talking about him. I wonder what his personality is like. I bet he's a heartbreaker."

"He seemed really nice," said Sungmin immediately, "and he was totally eyeing Donghae here." He laughed, and Donghae protested immediately.

"No he wasn't! And he looks like an asshole. He was nice at first, but he kept avoiding me like I... smelled bad or something."

Eunhyuk, who sat next to him, sniffed at Donghae's blazer quickly. "I think you smell good," he said reassuringly.

Donghae grinned at his friend. "Thanks Hyuk."

"Why do you think he's an asshole?" asked Sungmin curiously. "He really did look like he was interested in you."

"Dunno," said Donghae shrugging. "I just..." He felt someone's hard stare on him, and looked at the corner of the lunchroom, where Kibum was sitting by himself, with no food in front of him, just... watching him. "I just... got that vibe from him, I guess," he said, shivering a little and looking back at Sungmin.

Sungmin didn't question him further, and listened with interest as Heechul began telling everyone about his weekend. "And then Kangin here-" (he tapped Kangin, who had his arm around Leeteuk, on the shoulder) "brought over some tequila," he was saying with a laugh, "and that's the last thing I remember. I woke up the next morning naked in Leeteuk's bed, with Hankyung of course!" Next to him, Hankyung turned red and groaned. Heechul snorted. "Yah, what are you getting embarrassed about? Everyone knows we're together anyway." Siwon, who was in Heechul and Hankyung's year, shot Hankyung a sympathetic look.

Yesung groaned from his seat between Kyuhyun and Ryeowook. "Heechul, you're so loud."

Heechul snorted. "You're not supposed to be hungover on a Monday afternoon, idiot."

"S'your fault," Yesung mumbled as Ryeowook rubbed him on the back.

Donghae noticed none of what was going on at his table (though this wasn't abnormal, considering he was Donghae), because all he could think about at the moment was how Kibum was still staring at him, watching his every move, as if he knew Donghae was thinking about him.

"Earth to Donghae," said Shindong suddenly, waving a hand in front of Donghae. "You okay there, man?"

Donghae nodded absently. "I... just remembered I have some Math homework to do," he said quickly, getting up from the table. "I'll see you guys in English class," he said to Sungmin and Eunhyuk, grabbing his tray and exiting the lunchroom.

He didn't realize it at the time, but Kibum left seconds after.

The next day, Donghae had a near-death experience. Or at least, that's what he would tell anyone who'd listen after. He was walking up the hill to school, an hour before classes started, when he heard the sound of a horn.

"Watch out!" yelled someone, and Donghae looked behind him and saw a car speeding in his direction. He froze, and panicked, and prepared for the impact when he felt a pair of strong arms around him, pushing him out of the car's path and onto the sidewalk.

The driver of the car swore loudly before accelerating, and Donghae watched his car pass by dumbly, heart in his throat.

"Are you okay?"

Donghae looked at his savior, whose hands were gripping his shoulders, and gasped. "You!" he said, backing away and pointing at Kibum.

Kibum just looked confused. "Yeah...?"

"Where did you come from?"

Kibum blinked. "I was just... walking to school."

"No you weren't! I was the only one walking - it's too early for people to be walking to school."

Kibum looked at his watch. "Donghae-sshi, we're not that early..."

"Still! You came out of nowhere! And you moved so fast!" Donghae insisted.

Kibum shrugged. "No I didn't, but believe what you want. Anyway, are you okay?"

Donghae eyed him suspiciously. "I'm fine. Why are you talking to me? I thought you hated me?"

Kibum looked genuinely surprised. "Hated you? I just met you! I don't know you at all, why do you think that?"

"You're always... avoiding me in class," said Donghae, embarrassed. "And... watching me."

Kibum laughed, and Donghae's heart jumped at the sound. "No I'm not! You must be imagining it. Do you need me to take you to the nurse's office?"

Donghae reddened. "No thank you, I'm fine."

"Oh, alright," said Kibum. "Well," he said with a charming grin. "See you in class."

Donghae watched after him as he left, a puzzled look on his face.

How did he just appear like that? And push me out of the road so fast? It's like he's... not human.

His eyes widened at the thought. But then... what is he?

At lunch, Donghae could feel Kibum's eyes on him once more. He was at the same table as yesterday, again with no food in front of him. His stare was unnerving, really. Terribly unsettling, like he was seeing right through him. Donghae wondered if that was a sign of another one of his inhuman abilities - being able to glare holes into people's shirts. He checked his blazer for tears just in case. Nope - no holes, and no singe marks either.

After lunch, Donghae had Chemistry class. And of course, by some sick twist of fate, who else walked into class but Kim Kibum? It was his first Chem class since he arrived here, so he went straight to the teacher. Donghae watched from his lab table as they spoke briefly, and then the teacher smiled and pointed... at him. "Kibum-sshi," he heard her say, "Why don't you join Donghae and Eunhyuk's lab group? Eunhyuk is conveniently absent today, so Donghae will show you how everything works."

Conveniently, indeed, thought Donghae darkly, making a mental note to leave Eunhyuk a mean voicemail. Kibum thanked her and walked over to his new seat. He nodded at Donghae in greeting, but Donghae just ignored him. Lifesaver or not, Kim Kibum was weird and mean and ridiculously hot, but that was beside the point, really.

As the teacher was explaining their lab for today, Donghae noted that Kibum was, once again, leaning as far away from Donghae as possible, with his lab stool at the corner of the table. Donghae frowned and wished he would just fall over already - after all, he was probably on the verge of doing so. Or at least he would be, if he were a normal human being. But another thing Donghae noticed about Kibum was that he was perfect, too perfect. Blatantly ignoring their teacher as she babbled on about acid-base titration, Donghae took the time to really look at Kibum's face. He was facing ahead, glaring hard at the chalkboard. He had a handsome profile, even when he wasn't smiling, and his features looked like they were... hand-picked and put together to create a beautiful creature. Donghae blushed when he realized he was drooling a little.

It was another one of Kibum's supernatural powers, Donghae was sure of it. He had the power to make any mere mortal, regardless of gender, find him devastatingly attractive. Donghae recalled when he first saw Kibum, with a quick, mildly interested glance at the beginning of the week, and thought he wasn't anything special. Somehow, in the span of two days, Kibum had managed to change Donghae's mind completely. It was terrible! And so immoral. Donghae shook his head, and Kibum turned his head suddenly to face him, with this knowing look on his face.

He knows I'm watching him, Donghae thought, immediately looking down at his lab manual and working to hide his embarrassment. Maybe he even... knows what I'm thinking! Oh my God, what if he knows exactly what's going through my mind right now?!

Donghae panicked. What are his other abilities? So far, he has the ability to run at a superhuman speed, and make people find him desirable... And he... Donghae screwed up his face, deep in thought. He doesn't eat! He doesn't eat human food... and he... Kibum was still watching Donghae, with an almost predatory look. He wants to eat... ME! thought Donghae suddenly. He... preys on humans!

Donghae tried not to hyperventilate. What other powers does he have...? An horrifying idea popped into his head, and Donghae almost forgot how to breathe. WHAT IF HE HAS X-RAY VISION?! WHAT IF HE CAN SEE THROUGH MY CLOTHES?!!!

Donghae made an odd flailing movement and toppled out of his chair. The teacher, still in the middle of her explanation, stopped speaking abruptly and gave him a questioning look. A few of the students were suppressing laughter. Donghae's face heated up, and he grabbed onto an offered hand to pull himself up.

He wasn't even surprised to see it was Kibum's.

"-hae-sshi? Donghae-sshi?" the teacher was saying. "Are you okay?"

Donghae gaped at Kibum, mouth opening and closing like that of a fish. Kibum quickly felt his forehead, and spoke for him. "Seonsangnim, I think he has a fever. He looks a bit unstable, so let me take him to the nurse's office."

"Alright," said the teacher, giving Donghae a worried look. "Thank you, Kibum-sshi. The two of you are excused from class."

As Kibum walked Donghae out of class, one hand holding his and the other around his shoulder, for stability, one thought registered in Donghae's mind: His hands are cold. Icy cold. They rounded a corner, into an abandoned hallway, when the realization finally hit.

He's a vampire, Donghae thought, mind reeling, watching Kibum out of the corner of his eye. Kim Kibum is a vampire. He wants to suck my blood.

Donghae felt faint. Kibum sensed his inner turmoil, and stopped walking. "Donghae-sshi," he said in that rumbly low voice of his - it sent shivers down Donghae's spine. Kibum's hand cupped Donghae's cheek, and he leaned forward in concern when Donghae didn't reply. "Is everything okay?"

Later on, when anyone asked him about it, Donghae would deny it passionately, saying he did nothing of the sort - but in response, Donghae gasped, and then swooned, and passed out in Kibum's arms.

He had really nice arms.

"Donghae-sshi?" Donghae heard Kibum's voice and his eyes fluttered open. The boy was seated by him as he lay down in what, after some quick glancing around the room, he discovered was a bed in the nurse's office. "Ah, Nurse! He's up."

The school nurse was immediately by his side, checking his temperature. "It's gone down," she said, relieved. "Donghae-sshi, are you feeling better?"

Donghae nodded as he sat up, and Kibum held onto his arm to stabilize him.

"Great," said the nurse. "Well, go home and eat a good meal. You look like you need some food in you. Do you have anyone to pick you up?"

"I'll take care of it," said Kibum with a winning smile. "I'm supposed to go over class notes with him anyway."

The nurse nodded at him in thanks and went back to some paperwork. Kibum helped Donghae down from the bed and grinned at him. "Well, you ready to go home?"

"I... I guess," said Donghae, still in a daze. Kibum grabbed onto his hand - cold, his fingers are cold - and directed him out of the room, down the hallway, out of the building, and towards his... sleek, black motorcycle.

"Wow," said Donghae in awe. "That's..."

Kibum laughed, and handed him a helmet. "Here, take this. I don't wear it, but luckily I always bring it along with me."

"I get to ride this?" said Donghae, still admiring the bike. It was a beautiful BMW, and looked to be brand new.

Kibum gave him an amused look. "Of course, I said I'm taking you home, didn't I?"

"Thanks," breathed Donghae, forgetting momentarily that he was in the company of someone who probably slept in a coffin and wanted to feast on his blood.

"Oh, Donghae-sshi... Lee-seonsangnim wants us to make up the lab at some point, and our Calc teacher wants me to go over today's notes with you. Can I just explain them to you quickly once we get to your house?"

"Okay," said Donghae, nerves settling in again. He was about to invite a vampire into his home. It was ridiculous! Donghae didn't think he was that stupid, but he never accounted for vampires having really sexy motorbikes! It was sooo not fair.

"You're on Plum Street, right?" asked Kibum as he turned on the engine. "The blue house on the left?"

"Yeah," said Donghae, and before he had a chance to ask Kibum how he knew that, Kibum was driving out of the parking lot.

"By the way, Donghae-sshi," he remarked as they stopped at the exit. "You might want to hold on."

"Wha-" and then Donghae was holding him tight, almost crushing him, and the trees were whizzing past, and holy shit he's driving so fast is he CRAZY?? AAAH I'M GOING TO DIE.

"We're here," said Kibum a few minutes later. Donghae's eyes were squeezed shut and after he opened them, he let go of Kibum's torso, embarrassed.

"Um... thanks," said Donghae, stepping off the bike with his bag. Kibum parked it in his driveway as Donghae dug into his pockets for his key.

As he unlocked the door, he could feel Kibum's overwhelming presence behind him and hoped - no, prayed - that his mom was home from work. He opened the door and found, with a sinking feeling in his stomach, that he was the first one back. He was alone in the house with a vampire.

"Nice place," said Kibum nonchalantly, removing his shoes at the door. "Hold on, let me grab my Math stuff." He followed Donghae into the living room and sat by him on the couch, shuffling through his papers until he found the handouts from today's class.

Donghae was honestly impressed by how well Kibum seemed to know the material, despite only being at their school for two days now. He explained Taylor's theorem like he'd known it for years. Donghae didn't assume, like any normal person, that Kibum had learned all this stuff back in America, and instead attributed it to his expansive knowledge from having been alive for a few hundred years.

"So, did you understand that practice problem?" said Kibum, after scribbling a load of nonsense onto a page in his notebook and expecting Donghae to follow his logic.

"Um," said Donghae intelligently.

Kibum laughed. "No worries, I'll go over it again, in addition to some of the other problems we did. You're quite lucky, missing out on this class - I don't know how Math classes usually are here, but I wouldn't have minded skipping out on this one myself."

For the next hour, Kibum not only managed to bring Donghae to a satisfactory level of understanding on the subject of Taylor's theorem, but he worked with Donghae to finish their Math homework for the night. As they said their goodbyes and Kibum started up his bike again, giving Donghae a quick wave, Donghae had to admit to himself that their time together was actually rather enjoyable. Well, as enjoyable as ninety minutes spent on Math problems could be.

And plus, Kibum hadn't made any moves to suck his blood, or even smell it. He had very good restraint for a vampire, Donghae had to give him that. It was admirable, really. And plus he was, like, extremely hot. Donghae didn't really know what he was saying until the very end, when all that Math stuff 'clicked' in his brain, but he was speaking in that nice bedroom voice of his, and Donghae thought maybe he'd like to hear it more.

Over the next few days, Donghae realized that Kibum was pretty nice, once you got to know him. He still had his weird moments - probably due to his strong thirst for blood - but he was a cool guy, and easy to talk to.

Through their newly found companionship, Donghae found himself hanging out with Kibum more and more frequently. Kibum would drive him to school in the morning, and back home in the afternoon. Sometimes they sat around talking outside on the lawn after classes were over, other times they went over Donghae's house and played video games. Kibum was extremely good at video games and always won, which was slightly upsetting because Donghae always prided himself in his own gaming skills. But Donghae just learned to accept that Kibum, being a vampire, just excelled at everything he could possibly excel at. Donghae was sure Kibum was an expert at all sorts of thing, like high-jumping, and doing organic chemistry, and maybe even baking desserts, despite his not being able to eat them.

That Friday, Donghae and Kibum, along with Eunhyuk, were back in their Chemistry classroom, finishing up the lab from Tuesday. Eunhyuk, having missed not one, but three days of class, was a little confused about what was going on. Donghae let Kibum do the explaining since he was, you know, a genius. Plus, it was an unbearably hot afternoon, and Donghae didn't want to exert his mind any more than necessary.

They were going over the reaction between NaOH and sulfuric acid when it happened.

"Wait," said Eunhyuk, furrowing his eyebrows. "And what did you say the final answer was?"

"Five times ten to the negative three moles of H2SO4," said Kibum pleasantly. And then he grinned, white teeth showing, and Donghae could have sworn he was sparkling again, and Eunhyuk made an odd strangled noise and said he really needed to use the bathroom and walked off, looking rather dazed.

"You really shouldn't do that to people," said Donghae, after Eunhyuk had left the room.

"Do what?" replied Kibum curiously.

"That," said Donghae, "you know... dazzle people?"

Kibum looked bemused. "I... dazzle people?"

"Yes!" said Donghae exasperatedly, waving his hands about to indicate Kibum's attractive face, and his prominent biceps - which, normally covered, were revealed for all to see by the t-shirt he'd changed into after classes ended. "Surely you've noticed how all the girls in class swoon when you so much as look in their direction."

"Hmm..." said Kibum thoughtfully. "I never knew that." He grinned. "Do I dazzle you?"

Donghae turned red, and fiddled around with his graphing calculator. "I... well..." he sputtered. "Maybe, a little."

Kibum laughed. "Oh, well... if it's of any consolation, I think you dazzle me too."

Donghae froze and looked at Kibum. The other boy was giving him that look, that I want to drink up your tasty blood, mmmm look (or at least, that's how Donghae interpreted it). Donghae felt like there was a knot in his stomach, and a... midget inside his ribcage, hammering away at his heart. Maybe he imagined it, but he felt Kibum leaning closer, and then he closed his eyes a little, and-

Eunhyuk walked in at that moment. "Hey guys," he said, not aware of what he was interrupting. "I'm back!"

Kibum pulled away with a start, and set up their next titration. "Yeah," said Donghae stupidly, still in shock. "You're back..."

The ride home after they'd finished the lab was awkward, tense. Kibum pulled into his driveway and Donghae stepped off the bike, and took off the helmet.

"Thanks, Kibum..." said Donghae, hands shoved into his pockets. "I'll... see you on Monday, then?"

"Bye Donghae," Kibum murmured, reaching up to brush some stray hairs out of Donghae's face. His fingers ghosted down Donghae's cheek, onto his neck, where they hovered for a moment over his pulse. His eyes widened a little, and he pulled them away, and started his bike up again. "See you," he said, driving off.

Donghae stared after him for a while, before unlocking the front door and running up to his room. "Donghae?" called his mother. "Come down for dinner at six thirty, honey!" He closed his bedroom door behind him, and dropped his bag on the floor. He walked across his room and plopped down onto his bed. His entire body felt warm, and he knew it wasn't just because of the temperature outside. He breathed in, and then out, and then in again.

About three things Donghae was absolutely positive.

First, Kibum was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him - and Donghae didn't know how dominant that part might be - that thirsted for his blood.

And third, he had... really, really nice arms.

Donghae didn't see Kibum at all over the weekend, and he wasn't there to pick him up in the morning on Monday. Donghae couldn't help but feel a little hurt as he walked to school on his own. When he got to class, he saw that Kibum wasn't there, and he sat down feeling a little lonely. He still had Sungmin during first period, but Kibum's absence was still all too noticeable. Sungmin didn't say anything about it until lunch, when Donghae was watching the table Kibum usually sat at absentmindedly.

"Where's your Lover Boy?" asked Sungmin teasingly.

"Lover Boy? Donghae has a Lover Boy?" asked Heechul immediately. The boy seriously had a gossip radar or something - seconds earlier, he was wrapped up in conversation with Hankyung, that involved him basically sitting on the Chinese boy's lap and whispering filthy things, no doubt, into his ear.

"No I don't," said Donghae, ears turning pink. Heechul slid out of Hankyung's lap and gestured to Shindong, waving his hand in a way that clearly meant Get out of that seat next to Donghae, I want to hear more about this. Shindong groaned, in the middle of biting into his second slice of pizza, but he lifted up his tray and obliged.

"So," said Heechul, immediately invading Donghae's personal space. "Clearly you have a Lover Boy, so don't deny it. Now, tell me who he is before I tickle the truth out of you."

Donghae's eyes widened. "You wouldn't," he breathed.

"Oh I would," said Heechul, lifting up his fingers and waggling them threateningly.

Donghae stiffened. "I... HisnameisKimKibumandwe'renotactuallyloversbutIreallylikehim!" he said quickly, sighing in relief when Heechul withdrew his hands.

"Ooh, the new boy, eh?" said Heechul with a smirk. "How cute. For once, Donghae, I approve. That boy looks like he came right out of a movie."

"A vampire movie," mumbled Donghae to himself, stabbing at a slice of potato with his fork.

"What was that, Donghae? Something about vampires?"

Donghae choked on his potato and Eunhyuk pounded him on the back. "Thanks," Donghae mouthed in embarrassment before turning with wide eyes to Heechul. "Shhh!" he said. "Don't say it out loud!"

Heechul raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "Only if you tell me all about it." He allowed Donghae not a second of protest, and pulled him along to an empty table nearby.

"What," said Sungmin as he sat down with them. "I love gossip as much as you do." Heechul eyed him resentfully before they both looked at Donghae expectantly.

"Well... I..." Donghae gulped. He didn't want everyone in school to know their secret, and he was talking to SM High's two biggest gossips, but they were also his good friends and gave amazing relationship advice, so he figured he'd give it a try. "I'm... pretty sure Kibum isn't human."

Sungmin snorted. "Please don't tell me this is another dumb alien theory."

Donghae groaned. "No! Shut up, that was our gym teacher and I was eight years old, okay? I don't believe in that kind of stuff anymore." He sighed. "No, I think... Kibum's a vampire."

To Heechul's credit, he didn't laugh like Sungmin, who started snickering as soon as Donghae had finished his sentence. He did smirk a little, but it wasn't so much a Wow, you are seriously delusional, Donghae smirk as a Ooh, this gives me wonderful ideas and they're probably wildly inappropriate smirk.

"A vampire, eh?" said Heechul, leaning forward conspiratorially. "As in, an immortal being that hunts humans and sucks their blood and all that?"

Donghae nodded.

Heechul's smirk turned into a very disconcerting grin. "Wow," he said, drumming his fingers on the table. "Wow. The sex will be fantastic! Can you imagine, Sungmin?"

Sungmin shrugged. "Well, I guess... if you're into that sort of thing..." he said uncomfortably.

"It'll be wonderful," said Heechul reassuringly to Donghae. "Absolutely mind-blowing. I don't see the problem at all. Plus, if he turns you, you'll get to live happily ever after forever. If great sex and immortality doesn't do it for you, kid, I don't know what to say."

Donghae gaped at him. "W-what?"

"Come on," said Heechul, rolling his eyes. "You've thought about the sex, haven't you?"

"N-no...?" Donghae thought about that dream he had on Saturday night, where Kibum flew in through his window as a bat and transformed and was completely naked. "... Maybe..."

"Damn," said Heechul, looking back at their table. "A vampire. Can you imagine how hot Hankyung would be if he were a vampire?" Hankyung looked over at him right at that moment, and Heechul licked his lips.

"Um..." Donghae didn't know what he was expecting when he'd asked Heechul and Sungmin for advice, but it certainly wasn't this.

"Honestly," said Sungmin finally, "Either way, I'm pretty sure Kibum-sshi isn't going to hurt you. I mean, have you seen the way he looks at you?"

"Yeah," said Donghae mournfully. "Like he wants to eat me up."

Sungmin snorted. "No, seriously. I'm pretty sure you're worrying for no reason. Just go talk to him, see what happens, and if he actually tries anything fishy on you, call me! I'll bust out my martial arts."

"Yeah," said Heechul. "I'll come over too, and stun him with my sheer beauty."

Sungmin gave him a look.

"And... ask him to consider turning me into a vampire too. Oh come on, someone this gorgeous just needs to live forever." He sighed.

Donghae looked like he might cry, he was so moved. "Thanks guys," he said. "It really means a lot."

"No problem," said Sungmin, with Heechul nodding in agreement. "If we didn't offer to come save you from vampires, we'd be pretty bad friends."

Donghae beamed at them, before jumping up from his seat. "Min," he said as he grabbed his things. "Tell Hyuk to tell our Chem teacher I've come down with something again. I'm skipping."

Heechul grinned. "That's the spirit, kiddo. Now go get your vampire."

Donghae nodded, waving to the two of them before leaving the lunchroom.

Donghae was back inside his house, sitting on the stairs and staring at his cell phone. On the screen was Kibum's name, along with his number. They'd exchanged numbers in the middle of last week, but Donghae had yet to call or text him. He felt embarrassed. He knew it would be daring of him, to call Kibum while he was absent from school and ask to come over. In fact, it was like walking into the lion's den, except the lion had really nice teeth and amazing arms and soft black hair and-

Donghae took a deep breath. He really wanted to see Kibum, though. And he knew Kibum's absence had something to do with last Friday, he could feel it. Kibum was avoiding him, and at the very least he owed Donghae an explanation.

Yeah, thought Donghae determinedly as he pressed the call button on his phone. He owes me an explanation. There is nothing wrong with going over his house right now. Oh God, what if he lives in a bat cave!?

"Hello?" Kibum picked up on the first ring. Donghae heard his voice and immediately his mind went blank.

"Um. I- er. That is, I. Well."

"Donghae?" asked Kibum. He sounded cautious. "What's up?"

"I..." Donghae cursed mentally. He should have planned this out better. "I... was wondering if you were okay. You weren't at school today and... I wanted to come see you."

"Come... see me?" repeated Kibum. "Oh... well, I'd like to see you too. But don't worry about coming over here, I'll drive over to your house. After all, you don't have a car."

"Right," said Donghae. Bat cave! his mind screamed at him. Bat cave! With coffins! "Well... I'll see you soon, then?"

"Yeah," said Kibum. "I'll... be over in a half hour, if that's okay?"

"Okay," said Donghae, and Kibum hung up. Donghae stared at his phone for a moment before jumping up from the step he was sitting on and gasping out loud.

"I have to get ready! I have to... wash up, and make myself look presentable." Donghae knew he was acting like a girl about this, but he reassured himself that he was merely taking precautions and 'disguising his scent' with his fragrant soap and body spray. After having a quick shower and applying his favorite cologne, he got dressed and rushed down the stairs. Kibum would be here any moment now. Any moment...

The doorbell rang, and Donghae was at the door in an instant. He opened it and there was Kibum, dressed in dark blue jeans and a t-shirt - Arms! a voice in Donghae's head shrieked - and looking like he'd stepped right out of a magazine spread. "Hey," said Donghae, moving to the side to let him in.

"Hey yourself," said Kibum with that damn grin of his, and he stepped inside and closed the door behind him.

"How... how are you?" said Donghae, leading him into the living room and avoiding his eyes.

"I'm good," said Kibum. "Sorry I didn't pick you up this morning, I... felt like sleeping in today."

"Oh," said Donghae, immediately picturing Kibum's coffin. He didn't really know why anyone would want to prolong their time spent in a coffin, but vampires didn't think like normal humans, he guessed. "It's okay. I was just... worried that you got... sick or something."

"Oh." Maybe he was imagining it, but Kibum looked pleased to hear that. "Well, I'm fine."

There was an awkward silence, punctuated only by the tapping of Donghae's foot against the sofa they sat on.

"Hey," said Kibum finally. "Listen, I'm... sorry about last Friday." Donghae looked up from the floor and saw that Kibum was watching him, hesitant. Like he was nervous too.

Donghae swallowed at the lump in his throat. "W-what for?" After the words left his mouth, Donghae mentally kicked himself. He didn't think he could make the situation any more awkward, but he succeeded.

"Y-you know," stammered Kibum. Donghae looked surprised. He'd never seen a vampire so uneasy in his life. Well, he'd never seen a vampire period, but he didn't think they ever lost their cool. "For... I don't know, whatever happened in the lab room. And for when we said bye at your house..."

"Oh," said Donghae. They stared at each other, neither one speaking for at least a minute. Donghae bit his lip and looked back down at the ground. "Well... I'm not sorry," he mumbled. As soon as he'd said it, he was mortified. Absolutely mortified. He felt Kibum's stare on him, that same stare he always gave him when he thought Donghae didn't know, that hungry, yearning look that made Donghae's heart thump painfully against his ribcage. He kept his eyes trained on his feet, and imagined what would happen now. Kibum would attack him, drink up all of his blood. In fact, maybe that was the favorable option. Otherwise he could... laugh at Donghae, scorn him, and tell him he was imagining all of this, this... attraction, or whatever it was. That was what Donghae feared, more than anything.

Kibum didn't say anything, and there was that horrid silence again. This time it was deafening, and Donghae felt like disappearing, like running upstairs and curling up into a ball under his bedsheets, and turning back the clock to a time when he hadn't already indirectly confessed to Kibum. But all of that was impossible, and he was here with Kibum now, and on the plus side Kibum certainly didn't have that whole eye-laser super power, because if he did, Donghae's brains would probably be seeping out through his skull. Ew, he thought, shivering for a moment before looking up and finally meeting Kibum's eyes.

And then there was that heated moment, that moment of realization, where both parties involved come to the mutual understanding that their time could be better spent making out. Kibum put a hand on Donghae's thigh and leaned forward, and Donghae's breath caught in his throat, and he closed his eyes.

Their lips met.

Kibum was a good kisser. Like. An exceptionally good kisser. But then again, he'd had centuries of experience. Centuries! Donghae's brain reminded him. If he was anything short of an Olympic gold medalist in kissing, he would be seriously pathetic. He'd probably kissed a thousand people, at the very least. A thousand!

Donghae tentatively lifted up a hand and and let it hover near Kibum's forehead, before he combed his fingers through his hair. Kibum groaned into his mouth and pulled him roughly onto his lap, one hand on his hips and the other snaking up underneath his shirt. Kibum's hands were cold, just like Donghae remembered them. Donghae brought his other hand up to massage Kibum's neck and shoulders, and he rubbed down on Kibum's groin with his hips.

Kibum growled a little, tilting his head to kiss down the side of Donghae's cheek, and then his jaw, and finally his neck. Donghae moaned and Kibum sucked on his skin there, licking and nipping and biting, and Donghae's mind, in its haze, somehow managed to register that there were teeth near his pulse so he cried out and backed away and fell off Kibum's lap, pointing his finger accusingly.

"I know what you're trying to do!" he yelled. "I know what you're trying to do!"

Kibum looked up at him from the couch, utterly confused and incredibly horny and damn he looks good like that. No, snap out of it Donghae, snap out of it!

"I don't understand," said Kibum, "I thought you wanted-"

"Even if I did," shrieked Donghae, "You should have asked! This is my life we're talking about, you can't just assume-"

"What?" said Kibum. "What? Donghae, what are you talking-"

"Okay! I'll admit it," said Donghae, eyes glaring into Kibum's. "I would have let you! Suck my blood, I mean. I would have, because I like you, I really do. And you probably know that from... reading my mind or whatever. But don't you at least... owe it to me to ask if I want to be your eternal vampire bride or whatever?"

"Eternal... vampire... bride?!" repeated Kibum, floored. "What?"

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!" Donghae flailed his arms about for emphasis. "I'm onto you. I know you're a vampire, I've known since last week!"

"A... vampire..." repeated Kibum. "You... you think I'm a vampire?!"

"Yes!" Donghae stomped down on his foot, clearly annoyed. "You didn't think I'd be so perceptive, did you? You thought you could just take my blood and get away with it. Well, you underestimated me!"

Kibum just gaped at him. He was still confused and horny as fuck, but he was also like, dumbfounded beyond belief. "You think I'm a vampire," said Kibum again. "A vampire?!"

"Yes!"

Kibum stared at Donghae for a little longer, and realized that he was actually dead serious. A vampire, thought Kibum in disbelief. Donghae honest-to-God believes that I'm a vampire. "Donghae," said Kibum kindly, after much internal What-the-fuck?!ing. He'd only known Donghae for a week now, but he knew how to deal with people like Donghae. Well, he'd never actually met someone like Donghae, but he was pretty sure you needed to rationalize with them a bit, like they were kids. In some ways, Donghae was a lot like a kid.

"Donghae," said Kibum again. "Please... explain to me why you think I'm a vampire."

"Well," said Donghae, pleased with his own detective work. "You are way too perfect to be human, you give off some weird... vampire pheremones or something to make people fall for you, you sparkle, you actually sparkle, you have superhuman speed, you have cold hands, you are good at everything, you don't eat human food, you read minds, you lust for my blood, you don't want me to come over your bat-cave house, and... you have centuries of kissing experience."

"Centuries," repeated Kibum, straight-faced.

"Yes," confirmed Donghae. "Centuries."

There was a beat of silence, before Kibum burst into hysterical laughter. Donghae was confused for a moment but then he figured Kibum was just so astonished by Donghae's brilliance that he could do nothing but laugh in his nervousness. He'd give him some time to recollect himself - after all, Kibum probably hadn't had someone discover his secret in his entire vampire life. This was huge, this was huge. Kibum wiped away tears.

"Donghae," said Kibum finally, still laughing. "I... I don't even know what to say. How can I... prove to you that I'm not a vampire? Because I'm really not."

"Really," said Donghae, unconvinced.

"Yes!" Kibum grinned. "I'm not perfect at all, people just seem to think I'm good-looking, and you're probably imagining the sparkles. I don't have superhuman speed - I seriously just happened to be walking nearby at the same time as you were that day - and my hands have always been cold, just like my mom's. I'm not good at everything - you haven't seen me in History class, and if only you'd been there for the play I acted in back in middle school - and I do eat so-called 'human' food, but the cafeteria food is inedible! And what else... oh yeah, I don't read minds, thank God because your mind is just... something. And I don't lust for your blood, but I'll admit I lust for you because, in case you haven't looked in the mirror lately, you're adorable and I noticed that the moment I first walked into class last week. And... I don't have a bat-cave, or sleep in a coffin, or do any of the other things you seem to think I do. And maybe, maybe, you just have to accept that while I do have my flaws, I am a fucking amazing kisser."

Donghae's jaw dropped. He did not foresee this. Not that he actually could have, since he didn't have supernatural powers like Kibum was supposed to have but apparently didn't have? What? Donghae opened his mouth and closed it and opened it again, and Kibum just grinned up at him, chuckling, until Donghae broke into an excited smile himself.

"So you aren't a vampire?"

"No," said Kibum.

"And you don't want to suck my blood?"

"Not particularly, no."

"And you sleep in..."

"A bed, like everyone else."

"Oh," said Donghae. "Great! This is wonderful!"

"I'm glad you think so."

"No, really! You have no idea how worried I've been about this. I mean, Heechul hyung said the sex would be amazing, but that was really the only perk I could think of, to be honest. And plus, the sex will still probably be amazing, if your kissing skills are anything to go by. It will be, won't it?"

Kibum snorted. "Of course it will, idiot. Any other concerns before we get back to business?"

"Let me think," said Donghae. "Oh! Why did you lean away from me all the time, if it wasn't to restrain yourself from taking my blood in the middle of class?"

Kibum looked a little embarrassed. "Like I said, I... thought you were attractive as soon as I saw you, and I was... shy."

"Shy?" Donghae looked surprised. "But you're like, a Sex God! Look at your arms, for chrissake."

"Er-"

"And you dazzle people. Dazzle." Donghae wiggled his fingers in front of Kibum's face, in order to recreate said dazzling effect.

"Woah," said Kibum, grabbing onto Donghae's hands before he lost an eye. "Okay, okay. Well, in any case, are you convinced now?"

"I suppose," said Donghae, beaming.

"Good," said Kibum, pulling Donghae back onto his lap. "So what time will your parents be home?"

Donghae glanced at his watch. "We have an hour."

"Hm," said Kibum with a mischievous smile. "More than enough time to see how the sex will be without any supernatural vampire abilities. What do you say?"

Donghae leaned in and captured his lips quickly, before pulling away with a grin. "I say we take this upstairs to my room."

"Your bat cave?" said Kibum, standing up and wrapping Donghae's legs around his waist. Donghae shook with laughter in his arms and he almost lost balance, but somehow he managed to get them to the stairs.

"Yes," said Donghae, pulling Kibum up the stairs. Every few steps, Kibum pressed him against the wall and kissed him deeply. "Stop that," Donghae protested. "If you keep that up, we'll never make it to my bat cave."

Kibum dissolved into laughter again, and Donghae pulled him up to the top and into his bedroom.

"Now," said Kibum grinning as Donghae locked the door behind him. "Where were we?"

"So," said Heechul casually as Donghae brought Kibum over to their lunch table the next day. "How was the vampire sex, Donghae?"

"Vampire?" said Eunhyuk. "You had sex with a vampire?"

"No!" said Donghae. "No, just Kibum, and he's not a vampire."

Kibum looked around the table, and waved awkwardly.

"Oh right," said Donghae, tugging on Kibum's sleeve. "Everybody, this is Kim Kibum."

"Oh!" said Hankyung, who was just arriving at the table. "The vampire?"

"No!"

"Hmm," said Hankyung, looking at Heechul. "I thought you said-"

"No, no, no," said Heechul, disappointed. "It was a false alarm. He's not really a vampire."

"Oh." Hankyung looked thrilled to hear this. "Great! So now I don't need to hear you complain about how much better our sex would be if I were a vampire."

"Can you imagine though? A vampire?" groaned Heechul.

"I thought about it last night," said Sungmin. "It would be nice, I guess."

Kyuhyun looked at him weirdly.

"If you're into that sort of thing," Sungmin added quickly.

"I'm not," said Eunhyuk, seriously.

"I don't know," said Yesung, also serious. "It might be interesting." Ryeowook moved his chair a bit closer to Kyuhyun.

"See! Yesung agrees with me," said Heechul.

"Exactly," said Kangin with a guffaw from the end of the table. "Yesung agrees with you."

Heechul groaned. "Point taken."

"I knew he wasn't a vampire all along," said Siwon, as Donghae and Kibum sat down at the table.

"Really?" said Leeteuk after a long silence in which no one seemed to take interest in Siwon's statement.

"Yes," said Siwon proudly. "As a Christian,"

"Oh Lord, not again," moaned Heechul.

"As a Christian," repeated Siwon, giving Heechul a stern look, "I don't believe in vampires."

"Oh," said Leeteuk. "Well, that's good, I guess."

"Are they always like this?" Kibum mouthed to Donghae, as Shindong stole a pastry from Leeteuk's plate, only to have his hand slapped away by Kangin.

"Pretty much," said Donghae cheerfully. "But you'll get used to it."

And as it turned out, he did.

... I know the ending was a total cop-out, but wow, this fic just never wanted to end. (Yes, this is long for me, shut up.) I hope you enjoyed it, even if you didn't read Twilight (by Stephanie Meyer)... To be honest, you weren't missing out on much, in my opinion. There's a reason this fic was a parody ;D

If you did read Twilight, however, I hope you recognized some of the references/parallels.

And as an apology for being away for so long (hopefully my next fic will come fairly soon), here are some Kihae icons :) I really wanted a Kihae icon for myself, so I made a (really bad) manip (that I didn't save, fml) and seven icons based on it. Please credit me if you are using them ♥ Thanks!
