Enough for Two

~*~*~

Cici and George had been married for two years before they won the lottery. They were your average couple, she was a sales manager at a high end boutique, he was an accountant for a large firm. They lived in a two room apartment and were talking about the possibility of children. Once they won the lottery, all three hundred and twenty six million of it, there was a palpable change in their lives.

The curse of the lottery was quick, as soon as their names were released 'friends' began coming out of the woodwork, each one with another sob story to pull on anyone's heartstrings. George was quick to change their phone number and get it unlisted. Cici was quick to delete their Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace accounts. They changed their e-mail addresses and even got new cell phone plans with different numbers.

Family members were just as bad as friends and it became clear that the two would need to move without giving a change of address to some relatives. George's step-brother was especially obnoxious, often trying to create tabs under the couple's names are the higher end bars in the city. It happened twice before they were forced to press charges.

Their lives changed and the relationship between the two was also strained. Cici has quit her job and was going to the gym every day. She was looking fantastic, however, she was looking too fantastic for George's comfort. George was beginning to worry over Cici's transformation. He gave her space but he didn't like it and soon all the new lingerie, hair styles, and other little changes began to add up to one thing. Affair.

A plan formed in George's mind as the weeks passed. He booked two round trip tickets, arranged for a private guide, and made sure all the little details were arranged. It would be a perfect vacation for just him and Cici. He would finally get his peace of mind. All of this went unnoticed by Cici who was enjoying her new wealth.

Cici was having the time of her life. They bought a new house, bought a new car, bought new furniture, bought electronics, and so very much more. It was a enough for Cici to think she had died and gone to heaven. She had loved shopping and now she had the means to buy anything she wanted in the mall. She loved the looks she got with her ever developing, sexy body and her new, brand name clothing. It was unlikely that Cici ever knew about George's suspicion on her fidelity.

So when George gave her the tickets on their third anniversary for a dream vacation in the Philippines Cici was thrilled. George had gotten them a dream vacation at Alona Beach with several chances to try out scuba diving. It was dream, they took scuba lessons, bought their own equipment, and even made arrangements to have their own American tour guide.

Their arrival was with a bunch of newlyweds, wealthy seniors, and a few outdoor enthusiasts. They spent the first two days getting over jetlag and drinking. The third day was the most important, it was the first day they were able to scuba dive. They had their American guide, Richard, who took them out and showed them around underwater. He showed them the shark cove, there were threshers and a few hammerheads. He took them to the reef and showed them the moray eels. The part that caught George's attention was in the reef there were large, giant clams. One was big enough that with one well placed shove...Cici would be completely engulfed.

The week continued with drinking, adventuring, and Richard showing them all of the exotic and interesting locations. George studied all he could about the giant clams, spending hours inside while Cici enjoyed Richard's tour of the tropical paradise. A plan had been born and George saw a way to make sure his wife would never cheat on him again.

It was easy enough for George to ask Richard to take them out and give them the opportunity to swim alone as a couple. The tour guide was far too trusting and George nearly laughed as he swam with Cici to the reef. They had bought the top of the line scuba gear, radio face plates that replaced the classic goggle and regulator. It meant that the two could talk, not that Richard planned to do that much.

They were floating above the reef when George swam next to Cici and took her hand.

"You know, I always loved you," George said, leading his wife down, down to the bottom of the reef.

"Of course I do...silly," Cici giggled as she looked at her husband. Her eyes widened in shock as his hands moved to her shoulders, gripping them with the full strength of a man gripped by jealous rage.

"Then why? Tell me why?" he growled and Cici's large blue eyes opened in confusion.

"Why what?" she cried and George shook her, difficult to complete under water, but it emphasized a point.

"Why did you fuck them?" he roared and Cici blinked in shock.

"Fuck? I didn't cheat on you!" Cici whispered and George glared at her.

"Don't like to me! I know you've been cheating. The clothes, the gym, the fancy underwear! Why did you betray me?" he demanded and Cici began to struggle. "Oh no you don't!"

"Let me go, George!" Cici screamed as she fought, suddenly aware of the large clam she was being pushed towards. "Jesus Christ George! They're not really man eaters!"

"No, they're not, that's an old wives' tale, but it's true that people have been caught in them, limbs trapped and lungs filled with water," George whispered and Cici laughed.

"I have plenty of air, Richard will worry when only you come back," Cici hissed and George smiled behind his face plate.

"Once you're in the clam, I'll pull your air hose. I'll tell that twit that you and I split up to go around the reef. Then I'll just be a grieving husband," George whispered as he went to shove Cici into the clam. Cici thrashed and George's elbow shoved into the meaty center of the clam, causing the reaction he wanted. A thick, hard shell closed on his arm and George struggled, his grip on Cici lost. "Damn it you bitch!" Cici swam out of reach and looked at George for a moment, not moving beyond kicking now and again.

"So close, George, so close but so far," Cici whispered and George blinked as something pink seemed to float down from above. It was followed by chunks of something white and pink. Slowly the water around them was filled with white a pink pieces. A fin sunk past George's face. "You were right in a way. I wasn't cheating on you...not yet anyway, but I was planning on it."

"Who?" George growled, his fist banging on the outside of the clam.

"Richard of course, you've been hiding inside for so long, doing whatever it is you were doing. Probably planning this, but Richard has been sweet, plus knowing that I'm going to be filthy stinking rich didn't hurt," Cici sighed.

"What the fuck, Cici!" George snarled as a chunk of fish floated past his head.

"You see, we were so excited when you suggested this. I treated your dive suit extra special last night. Spam was easy enough to work into the legs of your suit," Cici explained and George blinked as the first dark shape blotted out the sun above them.

"What.." George muttered and Cici smiled behind her face mask.

"We saw the threshers and the hammerheads but there are another couple of predators here that will love to meet you," Cici said as she reached down and pulled up the leg of her suit, rolling it up over a safety sheath with a knife. "You see I did my own research with Richard. These waters have two of the major man-eaters. The tiger, which is a rare man-eater and the bull." A massive shape over eight feet long moved over the couple.

"You have to be fucking me!" George howled and Cici smiled as she moved in closer and sliced George across his free bicep. "Shit!"

"I'm only going to stay down for a little while longer. Just to make sure the bull likes the bait. You see, Richard's been chumming for me while we were down here," Cici said. George glared at her, struggling harder against the clam before something hit him. It was a violent and painful hit and for a moment he almost thought Cici had struck him until he saw the horror on her face. She was quickly swimming away and George looked to his side, shocked by the amount of blood coming down, until he realized that the blood was far too thick.

He couldn't turn around but he felt a rather unpleasant feeling from his left side. He blinked as he watched the huge creature swim around him, its mouth working on something before it turned back to face him. George saw something red floating behind him and this time when he turned he saw several pink-red ribbons behind him. George's last thought before the bull shark struck again was the realization that the 'ribbons' were his own intestines.

Cici pulled herself out of the water, with a little help from Richard. The bronze guide smiled at the pretty woman.

"How did it go?" he asked and Cici smiled back.

"The bull loved the bait. You were right, it worked just like we planned," she sighed as she wrapped her arms around her soon to be lover.

"You will have to play the berieved widow," Richard stated and Cici nodded.

"Only if you play the horrified and apologetic guide," she grinned and he smirked.

"This is what you wanted?" he asked and Cici kissed him, hugging him close.

"Oh yes, I'm as happy as a clam," she chuckled before pulling at his shirt, Richard would be an enjoyable distraction, but he sure as shit wasn't coming home. Cici wasn't the brightest woman, but after George's attempt on her life, she sure as shit wasn't going to trust anyone else. She was filthy stinking rich and now that George was gone, she sure as hell wasn't going to share her wealth with anyone else. She was as happy as a clam and she wasn't as dumb as one.

Author's Note: I couldn't help myself, as soon as I thought about clams I thought about a murder plot involving a giant clam.
