It was well done. I think it did run a little long but it wouldn't take a lot of work to make it more succinct to hold the attention of the reader. I should also add that "mad as a hatter" is the crazy sort of mad, not the angry sort of mad.

Just a thought because it really was so good and only needs a little clean-up.

Thanks, I really was sitting at my computer with an "eww I have to write about feet" depression and then all of a sudden I remembered Cinderella and my muse knocked me over the head, threw me over her shoulder, and had her way with me. I've really been trying to fit into the size capacity that we're supposed to use, but my muse is fickle. As for the hatter, I just didn't like the lyrical sensation of mad as a hornet, but I may change that later.

Oh, I totally get it. :) My muse does the same.

Yeah, it doesn't flow as well, but it's a different definition. Back in the day, hatters would use a lot of mercury to make their hats. The fumes and interaction with that very dangerous metal took a toll on their mental stability and made them crazy. Kind of fascinating, really, I love stories about how certain phrases came to be. Like that Mythbusters episode about trying to knock someone's socks off. ;D

I'm actually an Earth Science major from college, and I was lucky enough to get Mercury for one of my reports and I found out that tidbit on hatters. I always wondered why he was the Mad Hatter, then when I learned about Mercury...question answered.
