I have a new-to-me car and vacuum.
Both a little older and going strong. Last week was a good one for 2nd hand purchases.
Because the car gets such awesome mileage (39-42 so far) I can travel to the city with impunity! To visit
Kate and hear
Born Heller and
Mi and L'au play. This is part of my resolve to experience live music more often. It has been so important to me in the past, and something I have neglected to do for years. A show a month, perhaps? All the while complaining about my finances? :)
I came across the felt jewelry of
Karin Wagner today. Not mind-blowing, but pretty all the same.
Last night we watched Peter Weir's The Year of Living Dangerously. When I was younger, the magic and the passion of this film were so heady and would leave me so breathless. Perhaps it is best to leave previously important worlds unvisited. I had the funniest feeling as I watched, as if I were watching my younger self falling into the dream that was that film for her, but the present me could not move too far beyond the melodrama. Whereas I recently watched Weir's The Last Wave, and got so much more out of it than ever before.
Not well-explained, I'm afraid, but I come away thinking that the way in I access the Dreamworld has changed and I like it.
