lots of crafty pics.

I am all excited to start running one of those blogs that shows WIPs all day long. I got some stuff to show, that's for sure.

First, let it be known that I received the most rockin scarf from rivercat. Here I am wearing it. I got to show your yarn off to a visitor, too, cherokee! Scarf gift as marketing tool? In any case, thanks so much!

Second, let it be known that I was visited by an online friend on Saturday, none other than Kate from Flying Pizza! this is the second time I have met online persona in the flesh. Her visit was like instant friend, and it was so very very nice! She came with her husband and his son, the rain stopped for long enough to let us go up to "the ridge," and they stayed for dinner and played some dominoes. Rubin (the son) was especially taken with elka, pomly! And I must say, Kate is quite the knitter, and after she left, I was extremely inspired to knit.

SO, for the sock swap on Glitter, I started these:

Sportweight alpaca on size #1 needles, and I am using a pattern (!) from Nancy Bush's book Folk Socks.
I am mixing up the color, though, choosing from this pile:

Hand-dyed by my pal, Margaret Thierry. she's so good to me. I have yarn privileges if you know what I mean.

Here's my low-tech row counter:

Then, yesterday, I went to visit my block-printing friend, Audrey, for a craft date. The kids played happily while I made this:

I will show off the patches when they are dry and in my possession. I love this stamp. It is so.. you know... medieval. I think I will be doing much more of this block printing. A very intuitive medium.

So, a good post, no? Much like this is an actual craft blog, no? Just wait, there's more to come: more aprons for a long-overdue swap, a pretty choker I made not too long ago, and who knows what else? Tomorrow...

outfits, knitting, yarn, socks
