For all you loyal livejournal readers, this is the one and only, Heather's Top Ten Movies of 2005. Now with my favorite quote from each movie!!
First.. two honorable mentions..
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -- It was good and scary as it should have been. But I liked the Harry Potter movies much better before I started reading the books..
Star Wars -- Much better than the second, but purely on my list because it is the end of an empire (pun intended).
Heather's top ten movies of 2004
10. WEDDING CRASHERS and THE 40-YEAR OLD VIRGIN
Two good comedies. Both good summer movies. Nothing too deep to think about. Wedding Crashers - "The painting was a gift, Todd. I'm taking it with me."
40 Year Old Virgin - "Do you know how I know you're gay? Because you are holding each other ever so gently!"
9. THE PRODUCERS
This movie would have been much much farther up if it was not tainted by Matthew Broderick. He made the scenes with him and Nathan Lane alone almost unwatchable. Roger Bart, Will Ferrell, Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane, and Gary Beach were all super good. Roger Bart as Leo Bloom would have made the movie AMAZING! I know nothing about the war. We lived on the back side of Germany. Near Switzerland. All we heard was the yodeling.
8. THE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY
Good movie. Also aided by the fact that i <3 Tim from the office. Made me want to read the book. Then the book made me not want to read the book. The world's about to be destroyed / There's no point getting all annoyed / Lie back and let the planet dissolve around you / Despite those nets of tuna fleets / We thought that most of you were sweet / Especially tiny tots and your pregnant women / So long, so long, so long, so long, so long! So long, so long, so long, so long, so long! So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish!
7. SIN CITY
Super good comic book movie. I'm still creeped out thinking about Frodo Baggins. I know it's pretty damn weird to eat people.
6. TRANSPORTER 2
He beat people up with a fire hose.. Enough Said. Have a good life. Whats left of it.
5. SERENITY
Serenity was very easy to follow for peeps that did not regularly watch the show. I was sad when the guy I liked died, but the movie was good. Made me want to watch the show. Mal. That guy killed me, Mal. He killed me with a sword. How weird is that?
4. SKY HIGH
I really liked this movie. It also helped that I think I have a crush on Kurt Russell. But I do have one regret... this may be the best evil villan speach ever, and you can't understand a word I'm saying.
3. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Johnny Depp. Oompa Loompas. Augustus. Violet. Veruca. Mike Teevee. I have always been a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory fan and a fan of dark, kinda creepy movies. This movie fulfilled both. This is the puppet hospital and burns center. It's relatively new.
2. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE
It's the chronic (what) cles of Narnia. This movie lived up to my expectations. The parts that were supposed to be scary were, and the parts that were supposed to make you get weepy eyed did as well. He's a beaver, he shouldn't be saying anything!
1. BATMAN BEGINS
I really don't think that my number one choice is a surprise to anyone who knows me. I openly <3 Christian Bale, and he is by far the best Batman. (I don't understand why people liked Michael Keaton. Maybe that's because to me he will always be Mr. Mom.) This movie kicked a$$, end of story. It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
