A fun visit on Thurs to our local WW2 command and control centre that they never quite finished...the Cracroft Caverns under the volcano. All educational and informative with physics and suchlike, seeing the 4 ring lasers there - one a little table-top design, one embedded in a giant telescope mirror blank and surrounded by big stacks of full milk bottles, one up on the wall, and one in stainless steel tubes snaking right around the cavern, the largest in the world. All with pretty red helium-neon laser light when you look in the corners. Definitely stock from the catalogue of the Evil Lair Decoration Company.

Did result in slight sunburn - should have put on sunblock this morning. A gentle warning from the friendly local G2...
