Time for a half-hearted update!
1. Famous Dave's - After firing four people, three of them bartenders, I picked up some shifts at the bar. Now I serve tables 0 times a week and tend bar 4-5 times a week. This could potentially be a better way to make more money depending on whether or not the higher powers give me a section in the dining room. Tonight I tended bar with Mike, my manager's boyfriend from another store, and we did pretty well. Also, because she thinks he's the best bartender ever, she gave the saturday night bar it's section in the dining room back! As a result, we made 200% more than we usually make. I worked a wednesday shift and left with $160, a slow friday and made $150, and another $100 for approximately 4 hours of work tonight. I can't complain. The only problem is time management- I need more time to study, but I need money to live in my apartment, so balancing the time spent at work with time I should have studied is a tough opportunity cost.
2. My apartment - Although my housemates are really cool girls, I can't wait to move into my room at baby prosper next semester. I'll actually have room for a desk, believe it or not! And other assorted furnitures! I can't wait. I live in the corner of a room right now with one free-standing closet. And a shelf. I ran out of room for my stuff, and I didn't even bring much from home. Oh well, next semester will be better. I can actually live in more than a space bigger than my bed!
