So I got my nephew Bolt for his birthday. I didn't get a chance to see him although his birthday was 3 days ago. He has a party next Saturday, so I brought the wrapped gift down to give to my sister so she could take it to the party I can't attend. All seemed good! Oh no, my mom wanted him to open it in front of me, so she ran and grabbed him, brought him in and said, "Look, he's got a gift for you! Go see" So of course, I'm forced and obligated to give him his gift early. I was avoiding that because no one else in the family had anything for him, AND his birthday was 3 days ago, so he didn't even know why he was getting a present. I'm so pissed off right now. I absolutely HATE being forced to do something like that. Whenever she does this, I go upstairs and avoid the family. I have no way of socailizing after being dumbed down with such tactics. And then she wonders why I'm not affectionate towards her. Maybe if she let me choose things, instead of forcing them, I'd be a little more cooperative.
