Not the change I expected =\

So there is this big blow up lately in news. Apparently no one realized this because it was so vaguely stated. Obama wants to open a new policy where every between 18-25 must partake in a 3 month military training course. Both male and female must attend. I'm rather unhappy with this. Not only is that longer than National Guard boot camp, but it's mandatory and exactly how to they expect EVERYONE to just drop 3 months and go do this? It sounds like they are making a more detailed list at who would be better so when they draft they know exactly what they are getting. I'm sure I am over-reacting but I really don't like the idea of it being mandatory. A request, I'd go do, but don't force me to fight. And after we have been in war for 6 years in Iraq, it only makes me less comfortable to know this is coming about. My only hope is that the senate will overturn this because they won't want their kids to go through with this training.
On a more interesting note, there is a law in WV specifically being debated. That any individual who is enrolled on EBT(Food Stamps) will require to take a drug test once a month. I know that sounds bad, but I believe it will be for the better. If someone is having money issues, and they need help, by all means, give them help! But if they are just spending their cash on drugs and making the government buy them food/home, then I think they should be dropped. Its a simple and non-invasive way to help persuade them to turn their life around. The test would only be for illegal material. And I see where some people would feel it's biased, but really, I believe it's the government trying to help only those who truely need it during a time where unemployment is so high.
