Party Report

As, hopefully, any readers know, I had a birthday party last night, and save for a few glitches, it was pretty good.

We all met at the mall as planned and I was surprised when six people showed up. The attendees were Blackberry, Athlestan, Tarka, Nate, Salem, and another John from Rpg.net. Granted, one of them had to be called and slightly prodded to come, but it was fun. We walked around the mall a little then we went bowling. That in of itself was an adventure.

It was slightly more expensive then I'd hoped, but wasn't outrageous. Only half the people wanted to bowl, the other half watched and heckled us. I was doing pretty good, we were all having fun, save for the intermittent power problems the alley was having. It was supposedly effecting the whole block, which I believed when, after taking my turn, the entire place went pitch black. It was rather spooky and it ruined our game. And I'm not joking when, within five seconds of it being dark, their were half a dozen cell phones out, casting small patches of light.

Somewhat thankfully, we did get a free game pass for when we wish to bowl again. We made plans to go have dinner and no sooner do we finally get around to leaving.. the lights come back on. By that time, plans had been made, so we went to eat.

I can't remember the name of the place, but the food was good. I didn't follow most of the conversations, since it was a lot of technical geek talk about hardware older then me or older then I can remember. It was still pretty fun.

It was really entertaining as people tried to pay their own portion of the check, which confused the waitress at times as she walked back and forth, asking if this credit card was paying this much. Heh.

Afterwards, we went to Wunderland. I played some games, also did the ticket games. Earned enough to get myself a small deck of cards. Just a souvenir of the party. Salem and Blackberry showed off their skills at the dancing/rhythm games to onlookers. It's scary how good they are at some of those games.

We left when the arcade kicked us out since it was closing and that was the end of the evening. I did manage to see Nate's place and where I might one day have to live, if my other hopes and plans don't pan out.

Today, I'm just going to take it easy, have dinner with my parents, then go hang out with Blackberry and Nate as we go check out a possible RP group joiner's own gathering party thing. It sounds to be fun, 20 some odd people, playing boardgames. I think Nate will be hoping to find fresh meat to join our RP group, but not sure. It promises to me another fun evening tonight.

Overall, it's been a good birthday so far, if a little lacking in gifts, but I shouldn't complain, since I never get to hang out with people that often like I did last night, and my dinner was free. So no real complaints here. Hehe.

So.. that was my birthday party. Hopefully reality won't come crashing down and I can continue feeling happy for a while.
