I'm gearing up to work on Folkruler, but first i'm going to see if i can get enough buy in from Matt & Jonas to run a new Mokumakani game.
Aaron: Do you have any advice pertaining to what went wrong with the last game? What i need to focus on to make the game work? Things about the setting, system hacks, or situation that you thought might work out well? or poorly?
One thing i know i would do this time is to heighten the Polynesian feel of the fantasy setting more. I've actually accumulated quite a bit of research, and some nice visual aides - i just need to render it into a form presentable during game setup.
Another thing to do is to find a better way to mix Polynesian myth into my Four Corners Burning Wheel system of magic...
