I don't know how it could be fun. I could say something horrible. Only you would think this is fun, Lavi. [catches himself afterwards and flushes] I'm sorry. Have you noticed anything strange about yourself?

[that stung a little, but he doesn't show it] Oh~? Whaddya mean by that? I think it's fun 'cause half the time I can't tell what you're really thinkin' or feelin'. This'll be interestin'.

I like it when people don't have to deal with my problems. I don't like burdening everyone. Please don't take advantage of it. [sits heavily on the couch] I should just stay in my room until it wears off.

[sits beside him, his expression more gentle] You don't have to deal with everythin' on your own, Allen. [hesitates, then puts his hand gently on his shoulder] You ain't a burden. I worry more when I don't know what's goin' on in your head.

There's too much that I could say... [doesn't try to shake off the hand or even move away from it, reaching up to gently pat Lavi's hand] I'd say you don't need to worry about me but I haven't been all right. Not since that meeting with Master and after he disappeared. [presses his lips together into a thin line] Do you really want to hear all of this? It's not important.

[keeps his hand on Allen's shoulder, squeezing lightly] It is important. And I do wanna hear it. Anything you wanna tell me... I wanna know.

I sound like a complaining child. Not everything will go right all the time. That one... The one who's been helping us. He reminded me of that. [his shoulders slump lightly] Lavi, I've got something inside of me that I don't understand. All I know is that I could hurt someone if the Noah takes over. [looks over sadly] I could hurt you or even kill you. I made everyone promise back home that they would kill me if they notice that I turned into a Noah. Can you promise me that? Maybe I can't hold him back like I want to, especially not here.

You're talkin' about things that could happen... that "might" happen, Allen. [slides his hand over, rubbing the back of Allen's neck lightly] If it comes to that... I won't let you hurt anyone. I promise you that.

[still not shrinking away from that hand, finding it relaxing as he closes his eyes and keeps his head down] I know that it might happen and it might not. I'd never forgive myself if I had to hurt people I know and are my friends. Do you have your Innocence? Does it work?

Yeah, I've got it. [looks a little sad] But Allen... I would do everything I could to bring you back before using it on you. You did the same for me when I was... [trails off, the memory still fresh in his mind] You saved me.

Please, promise me you'll use it before I hurt you. [smiles softly] I couldn't leave you to Road. You're a friend and... [winces as he bites his own tongue] This is annoying. But you're my friend, Lavi. Even if I had died saving you, I wouldn't have any regrets.

[notices that hopeful smile and shifts a little nervously, smiling a bit as well] You shouldn't feel bad. It was something you couldn't help and it wasn't your fault. I know the kind of person you are, no matter what Road said.
