Wish New Year's Eve fireworks were more of a tradition over here. Here you might have some people lighting small fireworks in the street, but that's about it.

We started having big new year firework displays in 2000. The first one was so popular that it became an instant tradition. If you like displays, the Sydney one is usually pretty good as well.
The BBC often verbally announce prior to a programme or news vt if there will be flashing images. The warning on the video is because it's a clip taken from within a longer programme.
