1. Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series! I read the first book in February and liked it, but didn't feel like seeking out the others. Fast-forward to stumbling upon the fifth/last book at the library, and decide to check out the entire series.
ROYGBIV SO GOOD. I find myself wondering why I didn't go on when I read the first book, though it's a good thing I didn't--the final one came out in March and I would've gone nuts waiting. And then I look at my review and kinda realize why ("how many different descriptions of of Alexia's reaction to being kissed and nibbled to we need?!"), but a) I enjoy the romance in later books so much more, and b) how on earth did I let that stop me from reading about Alexia, who is undoubtedly one of my favorite heroines in forever? DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. READ THEM ALL. Also I think I just found what I'm going to spend my Barnes and Noble giftcard on!
2. On the subject of books, while I have read some things that are not that good lately (Mangaman; Mortal Instruments books), most have been yummy! Reread Graceling and Fire in anticipation of Bitterblue's release (trilogy by Kristin Cashore); found Little Miss Holmes (manga), which was surprisingly good for what looked like fluff; and Morning Glories (American comic), which I picked up at random and has the surprising distinct of being the first American comic drawn in superhero style* that I actually want to keep reading. Normally I really dislike the art and the stories and characters are, well, obnoxious for lack of a better word. And this has all that which would normally drive me nuts, but I am enjoying it. And then I found out that it's looking like a 100-issue series, and they're only in the 20s right now. Curses!

Like this. It's what I think of as quintessential American comic-book-style, although I don't know if it actually has a name.
3. You should look at my
Pinterest, because it the art board is currently full of stuff from
Ignition Zero, which is the PRETTIEST comic I've seen in forever. Such beautiful bright watercolors! And it's a fun story with ace characters!, but every. single. page. is eye candy.
...And then I realized my art board was full of long flowy things, rainbow things, or things that are both long and flowy and rainbow.
4. My roommate (#5!) decided to host a potluck tomorrow, so I am making pumpkin bread, which is delicious and will be my wedding cake some day. I should also unpack all the boxes on my desk so it looks nice for visitors. And move all my books off the futon, which has been acting as a bookcase since my desk shelves are holding boxes. (On a related note: Dear Nashville library system, why am I limited to 25 books? It is an absurdly low number. You should take note of the library system from my home in Virginia, where the limit is "as many as you can carry," according to the librarians. [Technically, 250, but I'm pretty sure even I can't care that many.] This is a much more sensible way of doing things.)
