As anyone following me on Twitter or Tumblr would have noticed, last month I went to England for my first Worldcon: Loncon3. And then I failed to write about it UNTIL NOW ( Read more... )

A notice went out on the PA, causing an instant herd of stampeding con goers...who formed a neat line at the desk

Hee. That sort of thing happens at work regularly - including with alcohol.

I was curious about the things you said about the Buffy panel, especially being a white woman is hard. Can you add that to your list of things to talk about? (that post won't let me comment)

Added to my list! :-)

I'm trying out the idea of only having comments in one place - the DW post - but the footer that should have said this...didn't. Hopefully that's fixed now!

Ah, ok. I could switch to the DW rss feed, but do you have any plans to turn on showing LJ cuts in the feed? If not, do you have any plans to stop cross-posting to LJ?

At the moment, the RSS feed for my DW shows up to the cut tag and then a link to the rest of the text (or that's what I have the settings on, anyway). Do you prefer to see the full text or see the cut tag? Because I can switch it if that makes a difference for you :-)

I don't plan to stop cross-posting to LJ, the comments will just all be hosted on DW. So it may be more convenient for you to switch to the DW feed if you want to hit the comment button in fewer clicks!

If any of the content is not in the feed, I don't tend to bother clicking on the link to see the whole post, since that takes more effort. But if you don't want your rss feeds to include the whole text, then I can just stick with LJ, as it always has a link at the bottom to the DW post (assuming you're keeping a footer when you crosspost).

My RSS feed was just set to the default - I've changed it to full text :-) I'm keeping the footer on the LJ post, so it's up to you where you point the RSS to.

I have been radical and changed it to the Dreamwidth one. Which my RSS feed reader hasn't yet noticed, but presumably something will happen when you post something...
