SGA: Inferno and other random stuff

OMG, super volcano!

Yup, I'm a total disaster movie fan so I was already pretty stoked about the idea of SGA doing a volcano disaster episode. But to have them do a supervolcano? There just aren't enough disaster movies about super volcanos. Although you'll never get me in Yellowstone Park. I'm not completely stupid ;-)

It was a pretty good episode that I thoroughly enjoyed. Possibly I was overly influenced by the 'OMG volcano'-ness of it, but I thought it was a fun, enjoyable episode with just the right level of 'eek'-ness at the end to ensure that they'll have a return viewer next week. Really the only element they missed was the rescue of a cut animal (ala Towering Inferno or Earthquake) to hit true disaster movie quotients, but Ronon rescuing cute moppets can probably count.

The only thing marring it was Sky's stupid cock-up so that they talked over the last couple of minutes and showed the preview for the next show, ensuring that I'm not entirely sure what happened during the exciting climax. Bleh. Guess that's what buying DVDs was invented for.

But it was still SGA doing super volcano. Yay!

In slightly duller news, I returned to the doctor this week and got some stonger painkillers. They aren't kicking in yet, but at least it's a start. I can always go back and get something else if they don't work - the doc seemed to feel that pain relief was justified. I was looking rather tired and bedraggled at the time after battling the traffic queues from hell after a crash on one of the motorways that I used. So for once the traffic worked in my favour :-)
