In which we meet a new recurring character, a crisis makes buried resentments resurface and the case of the week is something that hasn't happened on this show yet. Incidentally, I can review this episode on schedule because I'm in Britain, whereas Elementary has to wait until I get back.

The episode made me cry. Something about Jacob wanting so much to be a man and being unable to. Was his relationship exploitive? I don't even know. Can mentally and physically disabled people fall in love? I think so but I don't know who would have cared for that baby had it lived.
I really felt for Jacob and his girlfriend. I felt for Sister Evangelina trying so hard to care for her brother. Sometimes . . . you can only do your best. But those live children were moving. We see them born on the show, but seeing them all grown, that's . . . that's Sister Evangelina's life.
I love this show.

Yes. This is sublime TV. Different in almost every way than something like the Wire but equally as fine and the reason I watch TV, really. And so unwatched!
Now I'm getting all emotional again. :-)
