Sister Bernadette! *sniffs* That just can't be the last ep of the season, can it? They can't take my dear Chummy and Sister Bernadette from Nonatus House all in the same season!
I knew where it was going the moment she stepped into that x-ray. It was still so heartbreaking anyway. She seems so young and alone. She has Christ, of course, but it doesn't seem enough somehow. I know how that sounds but her loneliness has been so evident from the beginning of the series.
Maybe they will keep Jane. I'm still rather curious about her. But Sister Bernadette!
I wasn't sure about the Masterson's plot, either. I kind of felt bad for Sister Julienne, actually. What a day for her! I suppose Sister Bernadette told her eventually what was happening but everyone is so kind, restrained, and very, very British.
:-)
(Just checked Wikipedia. Eight episodes this season! Woot!)
The episode had a "next time" at the end, so I knew it couldn't be the season finale. :)
I'm hopeful Sister Bernadette will recover. One of the big points the episode made was that TBC wasn't a death sentence anymore and treatable, but that it was important you discovered it in time - and with Sister Bernadette they found out before she started to show any obvious symptoms, so it means it is still early. But yes, her loneliness was always there. I remember the s1 scene where she looks into the mirror without her habitat.
