Yep, bouncy indeed ;)! I loved this new ep, the doctor is competent and awesome and I was just greatly amused and fascinated all through! You are of course right about normal size Gwen and horribly thin American actresses, it really shows what perverted view Hollywood dictates of women. Thank goodness for a Welsh woman! Highly enjoyable, as always!
Also, Barrowman/Captain Jack checking out Danny's ass was a nice moment - since we've, surprisingly, not had much leering from Jack in the show so far. Hopefully this is the start of that coming into the show, since I was worried that a US network (albeit a cable network) might have nixed Jack's proclivity for checking out and hitting on everything that moves!
Yeah, that was a concern but so far, there really wasn't much chance for Jack to ogle anyone, was there? So, I am guessing so far so good, and I remain hopeful that Jack has plenty opportunity to get friendly with the Americans!
Very true! And I was delighted by his line about being an American - which is so incredibly wrong. But he did get to use the word "hegemony", which is probably the first time in the history of American drama ;-)
I definitely agree about Juarez - she is the best of the new characters. And I'm glad that Rex isn't too likable, since this is Torchwood after all and amoral lead characters make the show what it is. Also, Jilly is amazing - using her and the news show as a comment on America's news-as-entertainment culture was amazing. I am loving Pullman's performance, but can't quite see where RTD is heading with the character - which is great at this early stage.

And bickering between the team members.:) So Rex vying for top position is in the grand tradition.

*nods* I mean, clearly since he was the first he'll play some part in however the Miracle will end, but that's just the MacGuffin, there is undoubtedly another reason for him being around. But then, who'd have guessed what RTD would use Bridget Spears and Agent Johnson for when CoE started? I thought Johnson was just there for a showdown with Gwen and Ms. Spears for Lois to rebel against; in no way did I guess what was to come.
Enjoying it a lot - premise is sufficiently silly to meet Torchwood standards, and Angry|Mom! Gwen is positively scary. I do hope the baby and hubby get more action in later episodes.
re: Rex' low sodium level - yes, I expect there will be something about this later. Mind you, I think that once the Miracle ends most people whose death was prevented will die, and I suppose whether Rex will be among them depends on whether his tissue will have had a chance of healing until then, and I can't see how his sodium level will play into this, but hey. Bring on the surprises.
I'm so rooting for Dr. Juarez to survive, though!
Strap: mark my words, it will be back, though I don't expect RTD to use it more than once, simply because otherwise it's hard to maintain suspence (i.e. if Jack can just transport himself and friends out of situations).
Or nearly all ... the antidote scene was a bit ridiculous, but it is Torchwood and the character interactions made me laugh.
Dr Juarez also rocks rather a lot. In fact this series is continuing the Torchwood trend of having plenty of strong, independent female characters, which is great. Long may it continue that way.
When Rex killed the evil!CIA lady in the airport I was all "whoah, he killed her!" having momentarily forgotten the whole premise of the show. Which was a bit dim of me.
