wee_warrior picked the following:
All except one (the werewolf icon) made by the talented
kathyh, whom I can't praise enough.
1.)
I already had an icon featuring my favourite Guinevere of them all, but adopted this one as well because it emphasizes something which I love about Merlin the series. Which is that Gwen's characterisation throughout, her development through seasons, shows why she will make a great queen (and is as quintessential to the future Camelot as Merlin and Arthur), completely independent from her looks (lovely as they are). Also? Fancy French castle in the background is fancy. :)
2.)
Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant during that award ceremony where Doctor Who won for the nth time and David Tennant made Bernard Cribbins go up and accept instead of going himself. Leaving aside that the Doctor-Wilf scenes are the very best thing about The End of Time, I always found it endearing that DT and co-stars seem to have such a great off screen rapport as well, plus that photo is simply hilarious, so I asked
kathyh to icon it for me.
3.)
. Amanda and her teacher Rebecca from Highlander: The Series. Rebecca is only in two episodes but is one of those characters who you think was more present on the show simply due to the impact, and Amanda is one of my favourite fictional women around. When I saw Kathy had iconed them, I grabbed. It also comes in handy for posts/coments on female friendships.
4.)
. The second episode of the second New Who series has something of a bad reputation, and I'm so-so about it myself (though rewatching I thought certain elements were less grating than I remembered), but it had hands down the best on screen werewolf I'd seen in a while. Most screen werewolfs are simply embarrassing (Harry Potter, I'm looking at you), but Team Cardiff did a good job here. A handy icon for horror themes.
5.)
. Rani from The Sarah Jane Adventures. I always liked her, but during the last two seasons I really fell in love with the character, and she looked fantastic in the time travel episode, so I was on the look out for someone making a good icon of her in Tudor costume.
kathyh came through!
