Loved this post!
And thank you so much for the clip. " I saw her standing there" always has been a favourite of mine , I had not listened to it in a long while and it was superb. It rocks in the most unforgettable way.

It so does. Do you know the version where Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen & Bob Dylan in addition to George and Ringo sing it? Mick Jagger and Bruce Springsteen doing the "oohhhoohh" complete with Beatles-que headshake has to be seen to be believed:

It was when the Beatles were inducted in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame in the 80s. Mick Jagger held the induction speech, which is here and includes his famous description of them as "the four headed monster":
