Randomly, and amusing if you're a comics fan and have read more than one story by a certain British writer: Paul Cornell coins the best unexpected!description ever of Warren Ellis in his report on the London Expo last weekend: On the Saturday night, I met Warren Ellis, and found him to be very sweet, like Santa with an edge. This reminds me: haven' ( Read more... )

Incidentally, I hear they actually gave Smokey a name for the dvds and it's "Samuel"

*g* figures. (That's the male version of my name.)

Hm. Certain characters would certainly regard this as a sign of DESTINY.

Should I ever turn into a pillar of Smoke and/or a Terry O'Quinn doppelgänger, I'll be sure to alert him. :)

Having visited Tanzania a couple of times, I'm glad to hear it. Thank you for explaining re: the timeline. I'll now risk embarassing myself because it's such a trifle, but it's been nagging at me since the start of Ghost Box and so I have to ask: why did you have first Scott and then other characters refer to Beast as Henry instead of Hank?

selenak posts about Warren Ellis' work, and Warren Ellis responds. selenak wins at life.

Just sayin'!

selenak is painfully blushing and trying not to be a squealing fangirl going "OMG I loved Extremis and also Hisako's dialogues with Logan and that Brand has her cell phone number", is more like it.

....

I mean. To quote Singing in the Rain: "Dignity. Always dignity."

*runs off humming "Moses Supposes"*

I prefer thinking he doesn't actually have one at this point. If only because I'm not sure why the hell momma would have called him that, anyway. So I say, it wasn't on the screen, it doesn't count, and the poor guy probably did spend his life being called "Hey, you!" :)

And thanks for the recs! Some of those sound like exactly the sort of fic I've been hoping to see. Will read them when I am more awake.

re: belated off screen naming: plus it makes the chances of him ever acquiring a generally agreed upon name tag under which one can look up stories starring him even more remote, doesn't it?

Enjoy the recs (I hope).
