Oh, this is FANTASTIC! (I saw you post it yesterday but I wanted to wait until I had a chance to read the most recent S.W.O.R.D. issue before I read it.) I love your Hank point of view, and his observations about Brand in particular, but also the way he copes with his current status quo, his friends' betrayal and the horrors of the Omega machine. "her ability to admit when she was wrong, something so rare not just in the ideologues who had always been his opponents but also in more and more of his friends these days" -- that just broke my heart with how true it was. But I love all of this, from the details about Brand's sunglasses to the revelation about Brand's own teenagerhood to the contemplation of how Piotr would feel with Brand around. I'm so glad you wrote this!

And I'm so glad you like it! I had to ground it in all the terrible things Hank has been through of late, but this is as fluffy as I get about these two, whom I still am ridiculously enamored with; had you not dared me, though, it would not have been written!

I have waited to read SWORD before reading this fic. And I adored all these stories!

My favourite parts "Damn it. Henry. I should’ve been here." in the Fourth one, and all the parts with Hank musing about Mordor and the absurdity of Osborn's position and hair in the third.

I am not often shippy, but these two really captured me, and I just love writing them, so I'm glad when people enjoy it. Of course, the great thing about a certified geek like Hank is that he really would come up with the Morder comparison. :)
