Torchwood/Doctor Who: Elevator to the moon (a little out of reach). In which post-Children of Earth Jack runs into the pre-Waters of Mars Doctor. Post-CoE this plot has practically become its own

I've just had a brief trawl through your tags, and is it possible that you haven't seen (or at least written about) Slings & Arrows? Because if you like stories about staging Shakespeare, this will be right up your alley.
