Ah, Gauda Prime!

As it is Gauda Prime Day today (that's the anniversary of the first time the last episode of the British tv show Blake's 7 was broadcast, to non-B7-fans), a collection of B7 links:

Meta

Best episode guide ever: not to be read when one is drinking something, or your keyboard won't be safe.

Why Blake Fought: because as with every fandom, it's useful to remember that the sort of good guys ("you could be looking at them" "What a depressing thought") have a point.

Blake and Avon: sums up that crucial dynamic beautifully.

It being the holidays, you might be in a mood to sing:

Liberator Live Forever: I'm biased, admittedly, but that one is really easy on the tongue...

For I'm President Servalan: trickier, for friends of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Terry Nation: a tune for Whovians as well, for the inventor of the Daleks

Fanfiction

Shane: rarely has the concept of using a famous movie plot for a different fandom been so splendidly executed. A PGP (that's Post Gauda Prime, for lay fen), starring Avon in the obvious role, Blake's canonical clone, and the later's son as narrator.

Morgan: still my favourite B7 crossover ever, and one of my favourite B7 fanfics. I first read it when not knowing the other fandom (the BBC miniseries Morgan's Boy) and loved it to bits anyway; after watervole made it possible for me to watch Morgan's Boy, I was even more in awe. But it's so well written that the character of Morgan comes across perfectly on the page, or in this medium, view screen; you don't need to know more than that he was played by Gareth Thomas. The Avon characterisation is fantastic, and I love the occasonal in-joke like Avon being fascinated by Margaret Thatcher.

New Year's Resolutions: because you need to end Gauda Prime day with a smile, just to show Chris Boucher you can! The crew's resolutions at the start of each season...
