I loved it too, and held my breath before the Doctor actually said 'Gallifrey'. I wish Donna was the new companion though: she has the snark and toughness to handle him, but yes, her decision not to go was very believable. As was she. I loved that she looked like someone I might know.
On another note, the preview trailer of s3/29 looks great - was that Kenneth Branagh as William Shakespeare, though? The clip went by too quickly for me to tell, and I don't recall reading anything.
In the recording I received, it came right after the episode proper, together with a railer for the Sarah Jane Adventures and for the Torchwood finale.
So far and judging by the first glance they look like a) a deliberate attempt at all women, all the time (which I'm for, btw), with Sarah Jane and the new sidekick and her nemesis all female, and like it's aimed as a younger audience. I'll definitely look out for the first episode.
It's an actor called Dean Lennox Kelly playing Sheakespeare. He's best known as Kev in Channel 4's 'Shameless', and also did 'Tipping the Velvet' and 'The Worst Week of My Life'.
According to the subtitles, the Empress's race are known as the Racnoss.

What do the Sarah Jane Adventures look like? I rather like the idea of those.
