weather and phone update

The weather here is great right now. I'm going to go out in it and see what happens.

Quick iphone update. The novelty still hasn't worn off and I am pretty happy about it. I'm starting to instinctively reach for the device whenever I see a potential snapshot...which is pretty often. For example, if it weren't for the iphone I might have never captured this candid shot of me and my niece Kaiyah.

UFO over Flowery Branch! Lil help via an app that will insert a UFO in any photo which I am sure I'll use til you are sick of seeing it.

As far as games, the one I play the most is probably the least sophisticated of all that I have downloaded. Its called Unblock Me by Kira Games. All you do is slide around these wooden blocks so that there is a clear path to get the one red block through the exit hole. I love it.

My other fave app is Autodesk Sketchbook which is mobile version illustration software that I am kind of interested in for my lappy now. The paid version allows up to 6 layers, has a pretty good selection of brushes, colors and brush editing functions. I think my favorite option is the automatic symmetry. Its like an instand hot rod pinstripe or mandala creator.

The thing about Autodesk Sketchbook on the phone is, you really can't expect to be creating bonafide works of art with it. I mean, you use your fingertip, so it is kind of like digital fingerpainting, which I really enjoy, but you can't expect too much in the way of detail. I have made a bunch of goofy pics and had a blast doing it. You can enlarge the image to get intricate with your design, but it really is the lack of accuracy of your finger against the screen that gives most of what you draw a very -hastily drawn- look even if you really take your time, It is hard to get the lines exactly where you want them. Of course there are prolly some people out therte who are freakin flossin it bigtime on this app. I'm content to relive 1st grade art class. I am checking out a stylus that works for iphone so I can try to get more accuracy though...

Other than that, its all about ambient sleep music generators and various podcasts. Plus I have found a bunch of free retro tv (I love old Dick Van Dyke show episodes and not just because Mary Tyler Moore is the hot).
