final

okay so there was a little bit of technical drama since last post. first off, I got the wrong size speakers for my rear deck, which thankfully i found out before I left the Fry's parking lot. I ended up swapping them for the exact same brand, one size larger, for exactly the same price. So I go out to the parking lot again to try and put them in, and it is pissing down rain, and I have to do it by flashlight, and it ends up that the larger size speakers don't fit either. I just left them hooked up and drove awau with them kind of just -sitting in the holes where they are supposed to go-. They sounded nice but they weren't bolted down.

Then when I got home, the new computron had shut down on its own for some reason. I opened it up and farted around with it, and finally got it to try and start up. I have started this computer about 15 times since I have had it and I could swear it is never the same startup process twice. Now I have to do some eff eight bizness to get it to fire up, but I also have to have it go through a bunch of different startup related crap that I don't understand. I just keep pushing buttons til it works. Once it starts up it runs fine.

So, last evening was kind of sketch...both my projects sort of took a dump on me. Thankfully at least I got the computron somewhat sorted out. Knowing thet the speakers weren't right bugged me out all nioght and I got no sleep.

This morning I headed out to Fry's to return the speakers, but decided I would head inside and ask if they had some kind of adapter or something that would allow me to use the undersize speakers. See they are only off by like 1/4". The mobile electronics dood was fucking clueless and I had to tell him that I -knew- they make an adapter because I saw them online. He was cool enough to call the mobile install deptartment, and they said to drive the car over and we would take a look. They never looked at my car, I just took the old busted Sony speaker in to show tham what I needed. The mobile install dood hooked me up with the adapters no charge.

The trouble was not over yet though. When I started the install process, none of the holes lines up correctly, so I had to utilize our drill press and some creative "engineering" to make the whole mess work. In the end, I totally fucking won because I rule like that.

I will say this, I am sore as hell from bending into all kinds of positions that the body was never intended to be in to do the installs. Damn.

NEXT PROJECT: Visual Web Developer install>>>

I think Danica could have caught Helio if she would have had about 20 more laps.
