feats of strength
I typed a bunch of stuff in here about work, but then I just deleted it.
It would be great to have someone to talk tech-talk with, but I am in some sort of bizarre middle ground where everyone I know is either extraordinarily gifted and thinks the crap I do is silly mindless shit, or they are happily strictly on the user end, so when I talk about anything other than clicking links they are lost.
The things I typed in weren't really complaints, just observations. This is not to say that I don't struggle there. I do...but in a good way.
Today the boss took me and the account manger out to lunch, which was awfully nice of him. We got some nicely padded xma$ cards too, which was kind of awesome and unexpected :)
Hopefully there will be a point where I really start to feel confident there. Today I had my first interaction with a client who called on the phone and asked for me specifically. The call went pretty well, but I was pretty nervous fielding his questions with my coworkers just a few feet away. When it was all done they said I did okay with it. When I talk on the phone doing business I get up and walk around. He wanted me to do something stupid to his site which would effect it side-wide, so I did it, and I expect that he'll be calling back on monday to have it undone.
I'm off til monday.
