There is no way I understand the deep and complex mess that our country is experiencing with the monetary system right now. I am pretty sure that yesterday afternoon though, someone on NPR broke it down by saying that the gov was trying to fix it by "just printing up a bunch more cash" . Then this person sort of backpedaled and tried to make that summation more complicated with details and percentages and three dollar words and such. The whole thing was sort of funny to me. Maybe I heard it wrong.
in other somewhat money related news, I think I realized yesterday that I have some deep rooted psychological problem with diamonds. I don't just ignore them, I actually find them sort of annoying. Diamonds get on my nerves. I have a theory on why, but I'm probably wrong. You people are all much smarter than me, maybe you can tell me why I get sort of angsty when I see diamonds on teevee. To complicate the matter, I actually LOVE magazine photos of pretty much all jewelry, diamonds included, when the pics are in large format... when the ring of bracelet or watch is as big as your head. So...diamonds not okay, ginormous pics of diamonds, way okay? explain?
