Okay, heres the extended weekend plan. I'm headed to the Clemson area with G Dub, to visit with his folks and take in a bunch of college football culture. I've never been to a college football game, and honestly it seems to be a much bigger deal here in the south than it ever was back in Baltimore. We may not actually get to go to the game, but we are locked in for heavy tailgating action starting fairly early on monday. Saturday, it's bike time. On your right is a map of the Issaquenna Lake Trails system, in the "Clemson Experimental Forest". I dunno what an -experimental forest- is, but it sounds like it could be interesting. Surely it won't live up to my hopes of being composed entirely of new plant and tree hybrids made up by scientists and tested only in the trail system, but it should be good regardless. Experimental forest just makes the mind explode with visions. I think we are parking at Maw's grocery. How appropriate.
Sunday evening we are trying to sync up with Eric "the ladies love" Esposito for some bocce action and maybe bbq-ing. There was going to be a bocce tourney at his hut on monday but it turned out that he had to work, so it's canceled. Sucks.
Did you guys know there is some kind of bocce tourney where they play a type of bocce called "boccelism" coming up at Masquerade Music Park sept 15th, sponsored by Creative Loafing? I'm -semi- excited about it and thinking of entering...but boccelism is quite different than standard bocce. You can watch a vid of how boccelism is played HERE. Two person teams only $20 to enter.
